Undercliffe, playground

These planter boxes are located at the entrance of a playground in Gough Whitlam Park, in the inner west suburb of Undercliffe. They are shaped like little boats with a waterline which is a suitable theme for the nearby billabong and river. The walkway has been made to look like a boardwalk on a waterway which has fish in it.

  1. interesting, I think they should put flowers in them, or empty out the dirt and let kids play in them

    1. There are plants in them which have only just started flowering. We're still officially in Winter here.

  3. That would certainly spark the imagination of small children. And, thanks for a new word for my vocabulary, billabong.

  4. Those are so cute! What a nice way to say "welcome" to the playground. I had to remind myself that the plants won't always look like dead weeds, that it's winter there!

  9. Interesting idea, I had the similar terracotta pot in my garden . The idea of creating a scene of boat sailing on ocean is unique and interesting. Thanks for sharing with Garden Affair.
