This fountain at Cook and Phillip Park is located in the square oppothe Australian Museum, along William Street. The two buildings seen here are extensions to the original museum. The Collections and Reseasite rch Building on the left was completed in 2008 and the Parkes-Farmer Wing on the right was completed in 1963. I featured a photo of the heritage listed, neo-classical Barnet Wing built in the 1880s in College Street here. The colourful banners along William Street were scattered throughout the city a few weeks ago for New Years Eve celebrations.

ReplyDeletedo you go swimming underneath of that water fountain? it's Ian Thorpe's aquatic centre, it's not cheap getting in and swim there though.
ReplyDeleteIt's very pretty and looks so nice and warm! I like the little palm tree.
ReplyDeleteMy 389 bus goes through the middle of this photo but I have never thought to picture the museum from the cathedral. Reminds me that I want to go into the museum in the next couple of weeks.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what I think about those water features along that block. Sometimes I like them, sometimes I don't, although you can get some good reflections at times.
