Circular Quay, Vivid Sydney, forecourt

This was the view of Circular Quay and the Sydney skyline from the Sydney Opera House last night. Vivid Sydney is a festival of light, music and ideas which this year runs from 25th May to 13th June. Some buildings in the city have been lit up with coloured light projections. "Halls Balls" involved the lamps along the Circular Quay foreshore being coloured blue and pink which produced some wonderful reflections on the Opera House forecourt.

  8. This totally captures it. I was lucky enough to be there on Tuesday seeing The Cure. An incredible performance in a spectacular venue (the Opera House Concert Hall). Vivid is so fantastic for Sydney. Prux

  14. diane b, the shutter has to stay open longer to capture those coloured lights at night. There's no way I can keep it steady that long so I need to use a tripod.
