Dawes Point

A view of Dawes Point from a ferry travelling on Sydney Harbour. In front of the southern pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge are Ives Steps Wharf and Pier One on Walsh Bay. In the distance is the Sydney Opera House.

  7. Another nice shot, Jim. Most people are just overwhelmed buy the Bridge and Opera HOuse and miss out on many of the other significant sights of the harbour.

  8. Think I climbed up inside that pylon when we attempted to walk over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Unfortunately we had to turn back due to a lightning storm. It was quite still quite an amazing experience. It as dusk and I remember bats wheeling over head and flashes of lightning hitting various points around the harbour.

  9. Interesting view of the buildings clustered round the southern pylon! Pier 1 evolved after I left Sydney, so this is very interesting to me!

  12. Great shot of the sydney harbor bridge. The fact that the construction stops before it hit the land head makes it a very exciting construction.

  14. I see where another of your followers calls Sydney the “city of my dreams.” You really do portray it beautifully. This is a well composed shot with so many interesting details. The two big pylons in the center from their side view make me think of Tower Bridge though not so blue and dance. It seems like no matter where you are, the Opera House pops into view...so nice. genie
