Newington Nature Reserve, Wanngal Wetland, weir

Newington Nature Reserve is located along the Parramatta River in the western suburb of Sydney Olympic Park. This 48 hectare nature reserve was part of the Newington Royal Australian Navy Armament Depot before it became part of the Parklands of Sydney Olympic Park in September 2000. This weir is part of the Wanngal Wetland.

Newington Armory, I AM

 This sculpture stands on the shore of the Parramatta River near Newington Armory, in the western suburb of Sydney Olympic Park. It was created for the Invictus Games, an international adaptive multi-sport event in which wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and their associated veterans take part in nine sports. The third Invictus Games were held in Sydney in 2018, at Sydney Olympic Park venues  "I AM" is the motto of the games, which is short for "I am the master of my fate".

Newington Armory, tunnel

This tramway tunnel leading to the Armory Gallery is located at Newington Armory, the former Royal Australian Navy armament depot, in the western suburb of Sydney Olympic Park. The tramway lines were built from Armory Wharf to various buildings on the reserve. The gallery is Building 18, one of the largest armament storehouses on the site, surrounded by earthen banks to contain blasts. It now houses a flexible exhibition space that can accommodate 500 visitors.

Newington Armory, guardhouse

This guardhouse is located at Newington Armory, the former Royal Australian Navy armament depot, in the western suburb of Sydney Olympic Park. The heritage-listed guardhouse overlooked the magazine buildings, incorporated a cell for detention of soldiers and contained the lamp room, where lamps were stored and refilled when not in use.

These indigenous shields and information boards are located at Newington Armory is located at the end of Jamieson Street, in the western suburb of Sydney Olympic Park. Each of the four shields surrounding the boards feature different indigenous art.

Newtown, church hall

This church hall stands beside Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church located along Kings Street, in the inner city suburb of Newtown. The heritage listed building was built in 1862 in the Victorian Academic style. An additional floor was added in 1998 for the Greek Welfare Centre, which provides social services for the local community.

Homebush, railway station

A view of the Homebush railway station platforms from the concourse, in the western suburb of Homebush. The heritage listed station was built in 1855, as part of the Main Suburban Line from Redfern to Parramatta. Today it is served by Sydney Trains T2 Inner West & Leppington Line services.

Fairfield, railway station

The entrance to Fairfield railway station from The Crescent, in the western suburb of Fairfield. This heritage listed railway station was opened in 1856 as part of the Main South line from Granville to Liverpool. Today it is served by Sydney Trains T2 Inner West & Leppington line and T5 Cumberland line services. The jib crane in the forecourt commemorates the former goods yard which was north of station, accessed by a single track adjacent to where the crane is now.

Stanmore, stack

This heritage listed brick sewer vent stack and cottage are located on the corner of Corunna Street and Percival Lane West, in the inner west suburb of Stanmore. The vent's circular base forms part of the brick fence of the cottage built in the Edwardian Federation style. The name plate on the vent reads "Metropolitan Board of Water Supply and Sewerage 1900".

The Circular Quay Light Rail Stop is located along Alfred Street, beside Circular Quay railway station. It is the final destination on the CBD and South East Light Rail service. This tram will soon be departing for the eastern suburb of Randwick. Quay Apartments is the residential building in the background.

Leichhardt, post office

This former post office is located on the corner of Norton Street and St Johns Road, in the inner west suburb of Leichhardt. This heritage listed building was designed by James Barnet and built in 1888 in the Victorian Academic Classical and Victorian Italianate styles. It was sold in 1992 and the main part of the building now houses a private legal office, while the post office only occupies the small side annexe.

Leichhardt Town Hall is located on the corner of Norton Street and Marion Street, in the inner west suburb of Leichhardt. This heritage listed building was designed by Drake & Walcotand built in 1888 in the Victorian Free Classical style. The previous colour scheme can be seen here.

Leichhardt, All Souls Anglican Church


All Souls Anglican Church is located on the corner of Norton Street and Marion Streets, in the inner west suburb of Leichhardt. This heritage listed church was designed by Blackett and Sons and was constructed in 1883 in the Victorian Academic Gothic style. The corner tower and spire were later additions, completed in 1962 by architect Lindsay R Little.

Newington Armory, Wharf Canteen

The Armory Wharf Canteen is located at the end of Jamieson Street, in the western suburb of Sydney Olympic Park. It was originally known as Building 12, the Wharf Transport Office, associated with Newington Wharf which serviced
Newington Armory. It features some of the original signage which outlines the Newington Wharf Safe Loadings and some of the newer signs for the shop which operates for tourists.
