The pylons and remnants of the old wharf in Johnstons Bay, in the inner city suburb of Pyrmont. They have been retained as a 'pole garden' beside Pirrama Park which was previously the site of the water police headquarters.
Love the old boardwalks, and this is as I read above a filmed one! Thank you much of the great reminder of of the past in the harbor for ALL SEASONS! As to your question to start the link earlier, sorry I can't, since it will chain me to the computer. I have adult kids and 7 grand kids who like my attention in the weekend (because of school), so starting it on Sunday already cuts in my time with them. Have a great week!
A bit forlorn, I think.
ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me of that tv show, Water Rats.
ReplyDeleteStefan, this was where the base was in those days when they filmed that TV series.
DeleteWhat is a "pole garden."
ReplyDeleteThe pylons pf the old wharf which have been kept in the water, near the new wharf.
DeleteNice pole garden; it's history is interesting.

Great photo! I especially like the lighting you caught.
ReplyDeleteI love to see places like this ;)
ReplyDeleteThere is warm light in the picture. I like it.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of a pole garden is so unusual!
