Tarban Creek Bridge
The Tarban Creek Bridge carries Burns Bay Road over Tarban Creek, between the suburbs of Hunters Hill and Huntleys Point. Tarban Creek Bridge is a concrete arch bridge which opened in 1965. It formed a missing link between the Gladesville Bridge and Fig Tree Bridge. It was originally planned to form part of a north-western expressway, which was never built.

Gladesville Bridge
Gladesville Bridge carries Victoria Road over the Parramatta River, between the suburbs of Drummoyne and Huntleys Point. Gladesville Bridge is a four-box pre-stressed concrete arch with a span of 305 metres. When it opened in 1964 it was the longest reinforced concrete arch span in the world. This bridge replaced an old two lane swing span iron bridge that had been built in 1881, which itself had replaced a ferry service that ran across the river. The new bridge was originally designed with six lanes but was expanded to eight lanes in the 1970s. This view is from the Gladesville Bridge Marina, located beside Five Dock Point at Drummoyne.

Huntley Point, ferry wharf
The clouds rolled in to threaten the perfectly sunny day in the suburb of Huntleys Point, viewed from the inner west suburb of Chiswick. The Huntleys Point ferry wharf is located on the northern side of the Parramatta River, close to Gladesville Bridge and can be seen here. The Chiswick ferry wharf that I featured yesterday can be seen in the distance, on the opposite site of the the river.
