Gadigal, metro station

Gadigal metro station is an underground station located below Pitt Street, on the Sydney Metro North West & Bankstown Line. It opened in 2024 when the Metro North West Line was extended from Chatswood to Sydenham via Central. This slick bench is on the platform between the two entrance points at Bathurst Street and Park Street. Gadigal station was named after the Gadigal people who were the local Indigenous Australians.

Lilyfield Road Footbridge

 
This pergola is on the Lilyfield Road Footbridge in the inner west suburb of Lilyfield. It once carried cars over Hawthorne Canal where it connects to the Paramatta River. The bridge was built in 1965, linking Lilyfield Road to Dobroyd Parade, but was replaced by a new canal crossing as part of the City West Link in 2000. This bridge was converted to a greenway with a path for pedestrians and a track for cyclists on either side.

Arncliffe, railway station

Arncliffe railway station is on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Linein the southern suburb of Arncliffe. This is a view of the Firth Street entrance leading up to the concourse and former station master's office, then down to the platforms. The cranes rising behind it are on a major redevelopment site which has seen public housing demolished to create a number of high rise apartments.

Arncliffe railway station is on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Linein the southern suburb of Arncliffe. This is a shelter attached to one of the original buildings on Platform 3 and 4. The building behind it is the Arncliffe Scots Club, a sport and social club since 1926.

Ramsgate Beach, sign


A view of the entrance to Lady Robinsons Beach along Botany Bay, in the southern suburb of Ramsgate Beach. A king high tide, combined with large swells and strong winds overnight had washed sand onto the footpath yesterday. A past view of this can be seen here.

Hurstville, mural

 This mural is in Hurstville Interchange Open Air Gallery Park, along Forest Road, in the southern suburb of Hurstville. The park features temporary public art which changes with different themes. 'Tatalita' is a triptych mural which was created in 2025 by artist Zhuzhu (Guiyong Zhu) from Taopic to celebrate the Year of the Snake

St Peters, railway station

 
St Peters railway station is located along the Princes Highway, in the southern suburb of St Peters. The station opened in 1884 and was served by the Illawarra Line to Hurstville. It is now served by Sydney Trains T8 Airport & South Line services. The trains departing on platform 1 head north to the city and trains departing on platform 2 head south towards the suburb of Sydenham.

Haymarket, Memory Lines


 'Memory Lines' or the Australian Workers Memorial is located in Reflection Park, in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. This 4.5 metre sculpture was designed by Ingrid Skirka and is made from bronze, steel and cement. It is a memorial dedicated to those workers who lost their lives in the workplace. This area has been redevolped but a past view can be seen here.

Pyrmont, Union Square


Looking across Union Square, on the corner of Harris Street and Miller Street, in the inner city suburb of Pyrmont. This is an old photo from 2015 because the former Commonwealth Bank branch here has since closed. The Pyrmont and Ultimo Great War Memorial was unveiled in 1922. It is a four-sided monument made of trachyte on a base of sandstone and is topped with a bronze statue of a female figure representing 'peace'.

Darling Harbour, Tumbalong Boulevard

These large benches are located along Tumbalong Boulevard at Darling Harbour. This one features a couple of curious stone artworks by Columbia-born, Sydney-based artist Maria Fernando Cardoso. The ones shown here on the corner of a bench represent dandelion microfossil pollen and are part of eleven seed and pollen sculptures outside the International Convention Centre Sydney.

Dawes Point, Sydney Harbour Bridge


Dawes Point Park is located at the northern tip of The Rocks, beneath the southern approach to the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the inner city suburb of Dawes Point. This view is across George Street which is closed to traffic on weekends for the Rocks Markets stalls, where local artisans sell their handcrafted artworks, jewellery and food.

Pyrmont, Johnstons Bay, bench

A sunset view across Johnstons Bay to the Anzac Bridge and silos at Rozelle from the Pirrama Park wharf in the inner city suburb of Pyrmont. This bench in front of the 'pole garden' has a message engraved on it, "A harbour to hunt and fish", in reference to the activities of the indigenous Guarangi people who inhabited this site.
