These light towers run along Olympic Boulevarde at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush Bay. Installed for the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics, each tower features a commemorative plaque for one of the cities that have previously held Summer Olympic Games in the modern era from the first Olympics in Athens 1898 to Paris 1900 & 1924 and Sydney 2000. This tower in the foreground is dedicated to Melbourne 1956, the other Australian city to host the games.

Sydney Olympic Park, Discobolus
Discobolus is a monument located in Stockroute Park, is a monument at Sydney Olympic Park in the western suburb of Homebush Bay. It was created by Robert Owen for the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000 and as a tribute to the original home of the Olympic Games in Ancient Greece. The steel discus measures seven metres in diameter, with a mid section made of armour plated glass featuring images of a discus thrower. The marble monuments scattered around the park celebrate the Greek origins of many Australians and the spirit of Hellenism. The Cypress pines, Olive trees and Australian Eucalyptus reinforce the connection between the two countries.

Sydney Olympic Park, Sydney Super Dome
The Sydney Super Dome is a large multipurpose arena located at Sydney Olympic Park, at Homebush Bay. It was completed in 1999 as part of the facilities for the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics, It is currently known as the Qudos Bank Arena and hosts many concerts and events.

Sydney Olympic Park, walkway
The trees along the pedestrian mall at Sydney Olympic Park, in the western suburb of Homebush Bay, have turned various shades of autumn colours. The walkway is bounded by Olympic Boulevarde, Cathy Freeman Park, Dawn Fraser Avenue, Showground Avenue and extends beyond to Sydney Olympic Park Railway Station.

Sydney Olympic Park, Abattoir Heritage Precinct
Abattoir Heritage Precinct is bounded by Herb Elliott Avenue, Showground Road and Dawn Fraser Avenue, at Sydney Olympic Park, in the western suburb of Homebush Bay. This building was originally the administration block for the State Abattoirs, designed by Walter Liberty Vernon and built in 1915 in the Federation architectural style. The buildings were redeveloped for the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games for use by the Sydney Olympic Park Authority. They are now used for sporting administration offices, visitor information and a café. Maiden Gardens, named after botanist and public servant Joseph Henry Maiden, is a Federation style garden.

Sydney Olympic Park, hotel
The Novotel Hotel, on the corner of Olympic Boulevarde and Dawn Fraser Avenue, dominates the skyline at Sydney Olympic Park in the western suburb of Homebush Bay. The contemporary architecture of the hotel, which was built in 2000, matches the nearby Stadium Australia and Sydney Olympic Park railway station.

Sydney Olympic Park, Stadium Australia
Stadium Australia is the former Olympic Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park, in the western suburb of Homebush Bay. It was completed in 1999 to host the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics. It is now known commercially as ANZ Stadium and had been previously known as Telstra Stadium.

Sydney Showground Stadium is located in the western suburb of Homebush Bay and was used during the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000. It is now used as the showring for the Royal Agricultural Society during the annual Sydney Royal Easter Show, which began yesterday.

Sydney Olympic Park, railway station
The main entrance of Sydney Olympic Park railway station which serves the stadiums in the western suburb of Homebush Bay. It was designed by Hassell architects and built in 1998 for the 2000 Summer Olympic Games. It is an underground station that is located on a balloon loop. There are limited services on weekdays from Lidcombe station and regular services from other stations during special events.

These light towers are at the Main Arena of Sydney Showground, in the western suburb of Homebush Bay. This stadium, which was used during the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000, is now the showring for the Royal Agricultural Society during the annual Royal Easter Show. It's been sixteen years since the Sydney Olympic Games this month.

Sydney Olympic Park, Sports Centre
The Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre, formerly the State Sports Centre, is located at Sydney Olympic Park, in the western Sydney suburb of Homebush Bay. It was known as the Basketball Centre during the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics and was the home to the West Sydney Razorbacks, an Australian professional basketball team and the Sydney Swifts, an Australian netball team. The Razorbacks disbanded and the Swifts merged with another team, so these billboards are heritage items now. Almost difficult to believe that it's as already been sixteen years this month since the Olympics were in Sydney.

Homebush Bay, monument
This monument is located at the entrance of the brickpit ring walkway, which stands above a pond, in the western suburb of Homebush Bay. The gears have been salvaged from machinery in the old brickworks here, near Sydney Olympic Park.

Sydney Olympic Park, Northern Water Feature
This pool is part of the Northern Water Feature, at Sydney Olympic Park in the western suburb of Homebush Bay. The fountains consist of rows of water plumes, with the first two rows on granite terraces that cascade water down to this pool with another row of water plumes. Haslam Pier is the walkway beside them that leads to a lookout to Haslams Creek. A view of the whole water feature can be seen here.

Homebush Bay, Brickpit Ring Walkway
The Brickpit Ring Walkway is located above a pond in the western suburb of Homebush Bay. The pond was originally a brickpit which was to be redeveloped as a tennis complex, as part of Olympic Park for the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics. However, during construction the endangered Green and Golden Bell Frog was discovered living here, so the habitat was protected. The Brickpit Ring Walkway was built to allow visitors to view the habitat from above.

Sydney Olympic Park, ferry wharf
The reflection of the Sydney Olympic Park ferry wharf along the Parramatta River is enhanced by the golden afternoon sun. The wharf serves the western suburb of Wentworth Point, which was previously known as Homebush Bay. A regular service is provided by RiverCat ferries on the Parramatta River route of Sydney Ferries.
