This Christmas Tree is located in Jack Mundey Place, a pedestrian mall at The Rocks. The seven-metre-tall tree features native flowers in warm tones of yellows and pinks, created by Nadia Duran. The wooden baubles have been designed by Wiradjuri artist, Shelby-Rae Lyons. The clock tower rises above Clocktower Square, on the corner of Harrington Street and Argyle Street.
The Bastille Olympic Village was located at East Circular Quay for the Bastille Festival and to celebrate the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.The village featured oversized 3D sculptures of iconic Paris landmarks, such as this six metre high replica of the Eiffel Tower. UTS Centralis on the campus of the University of Technology Sydney, on the corner of Broadway and Jones Street, in the inner city suburb of Ultimo. Also known as UTS Building 2, the 17 floors of UTS Central contain the new Blake Library and scholarly Reading Room, student study spaces and a food court that opens onto Alumni Green. It also houses the Faculty of Engineering and IT and the Faculty of Law with trial courts and Moot Court. The building was completed in 2019 with the tower designed by Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp (FJMT) and the podium designed by Lacoste+Stevenson in association with DJRD. This view is fromAlumni Green.
UTS Tower is on the campus of the University of Technology Sydney, along Broadway in the inner city suburb of Ultimo. Also known as UTS Building 1, the 27 floors contain many of the administrative units of the university. It was completed in 1979 in the brutalist architectural style from a 1968 plan by Michael Dysart of the NSW Government Architect's Office. The lifeguard observation tower overlooking North Cronulla Beach, one of the beaches in the southern suburb of Cronulla. It was recently relocated, after weeks of rain and wild weather had severely eroded the beach. The huge swells battered the shoreline and had left the tower dangerously close to falling into the ocean.
This control tower is on the Pyrmont Bridge, a swing bridge over Cockle Bay in Darling Harbour. The bridge was designed by Percy Allan and opened to traffic in 1902. It was one of the largest spanning swing bridges in the world and one of the first to be powered by electricity. It was closed to traffic in 1984 when freeways south of Cockle Bay were built but was restored and reopened as a pedestrian bridge with the redevelopment of Darling Harbour in 1988. The bridge links the central business district with Pyrmont. The swing bridge opens for tall ships and yachts at 11am, 12 noon, 1pm and 2pm on weekends and public holidays. This fountain stands at one end of an avenue of plane trees, located at the highest point of Bicentennial Park, in the western suburb of Sydney Olympic Park. At the other end is the Treillage Tower, a 3 storey, 17 metre high viewing tower constructed with trellis. Treillage is a French word for lattice, which was commonly used in gardens in the 16th century.
The Paddy Bastic Pavilion is located in Broadarrow Reserve, off Marine Parade, in the eastern suburb of Maroubra. Originally known as Maroubra Pavilion, it was renamed in 2018 to honour a local identity. It features a restaurant, kiosk and amenitiesfor beachgoers plus a tower for life guards to monitor the beach.
