Woolloomooloo, Finger Wharf, boardwalk

 

The Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf on Wooloomooloo Bay is the largest timbered-piled building in the world. The wharf and warehouse building were completed in 1915 and was a working port until the 1970s. The wharf was redeveloped in the 1990s into a hotel, apartments, restaurants and a marina.

This sculpture is located at the entrance to the Ovolo Hotel, in the inner city suburb of Woolloomooloo. The Ovolo Hotel logo features this sphere design, replicated in this sculpture. It seems they might have had trouble with visitors touching the sculpture so they've installed an amusing sign which reads: Please don't touch our balls, and we won't touch yours.

Big Bus Sydney is a hop on–hop off tourist bus service that operates open-top double-decker bus tours around the Sydney Central Business District and out to Bondi Beach. Woolloomooloo, The Bells Hotel

The Bells Hotel is bounded by Cowper Wharf Roadway, Bourke Street and Lincoln Crescent, in the inner city suburb of Woolloomooloo. This heritage listed building was designed by Spain & Cash and built in 1922 in the Inter-War Free Classical style. Sydney Tower and the MLC Building sneak into the view in the distance.

Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel

The Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel is located on the corner of Cowper Wharf Roadway and Bourke Street, in the inner city suburb of Woolloomooloo. This heritage listed building was formerly the Macquarie Hotel, designed by Ernest Lindsay Thompson and built in 1922 in the Inter-War Free Classical style.

The idea of the sculpture takes inspiration from Kintsugi, a Japanese style of art that uses gold, silver, or platinum to repair broken pottery. The Wolloomooloo Finger Wharf is located in the inner city suburb of Woolloomooloo. This former wool and cargo dock on Wolloomooloo Bay was built in 1915 and remained part of the working port until the 1970s. It was restored in the 1990s and redeveloped into a luxury hotel, apartments, commercial offices, restaurants and a marina. This view is from the promenade across the bay.
