This mural is on the side of a cafe on the corner of Oxford Street and Perry Lane, in the inner city suburb of Paddington. It was created by a the team of artists Steve Cakebread and Jo Lockley, known as Wally McWallface. This was part of the Perry Lane Art Project, commissioned by Woollahra Council in 2019. It features a number of fantasy hybrid creatures.

Paddington, newsagency

This historic building is located along Oxford Street in the inner city suburb of Paddington. It was originally built as a retail and residential building. It now features a newsagent on the ground floor, a cosmetic medicine practice on the first floor and a residence on the second floor. With the demand for physical newspapers and magazines dropping off in recent years, many newsagencies across the country have closed. The newsagencies which survive rely on sales of lottery tickets, stationery and gifts to stay in business these days.

This mural is on the side of a cafe on the corner of Oxford Street and Perry Lane, in the inner city suburb of Paddington. It was created by artist Ignacio Querejeta and is part of the Perry Lane Art Project, commissioned by Woollahra Council in 2019. It features an Australian white ibises which have come to be regarded as a problem species in urban areas as a result of their scavenging activities, scattering rubbish from tips and bins in the process. The species has acquired a variety of colloquial names such as "bin chicken" or "bin chook".

Paddington, fountain (Theme Day: Bubbles)

This fountain is located in Strong Memorial Reserve along Oxford Street, where it once connected to Elizabeth Street, in the inner city suburb of Paddington. It was installed in 1968 and features the figure of a child sitting on an urn mounted on a pedestal. The sculpture is painted gold but it had previously been silver as seen here. The streams of water create bubbles in the basin of the fountain.

These terrace houses and former corner shop are located on the corner of Jersey Road and Melrose Lane, in the inner eastern suburb of Paddington. The corner shop is now home to I Maccheroni, an Italian restaurant and one of the terrace houses is home to Blomfield real estate agent. This photo was taken in 2020 so there have been some changes since then.

Paddington, Paddington Inn

The Paddington Inn, colloquially known as the Paddo Inn, is located on the corner of corner of Oxford Street and William Street, in the inner city suburb of Paddington. This heritage listed pub was formerly the United Services Hotel. It was built in 1896 and designed in a High Victorian free interpretation of the Classical Revival style. The red baubles are a unique Christmas decoration.

Paddington, Paparazzi Pack

 

This sculpture is located on the footpath along Oxford Street, in the inner city suburb of Paddington. 'Timothy' is one of four sculptures created as the 'Paparazzi Pack' by British and Australian artists, Gillie and Marc. A pack of dogs holding cameras was created to comment on the pack mentality of the paparazzi.

Paddington, St Matthias Anglican Church

St Matthias Anglican Church, is located long Oxford Street, in the eastern suburb of Paddington. This heritage listed building was designed by Edward Bell and built in 1861 in the Victorian Academic Gothic style.
