Monterey, beach

 
A view of Lady Robinsons Beach, on the shore of Botany Bay, in the southern suburb of Monterey. The cooler autumn weather has arrived but some people are still swimming at the beach.

George Street

 
A view of George Street, looking south towards the Pavilion on George building. The road has been closed to general traffic since the CBD and South East Light Rail was constructed in 2015. Notable signs here are for the flagship Dymocks book shop, the Gowings building which formerly housed the Gowings department store and the HCF Health Care Fund head office.

Strathfield, Holyrood

Holyrood is a heritage listed house on the corner of The Boulevarde and Jersey Road, in the inner west suburb of Strathfield. It was built by steel industrialist Charles Hoskins as "Illyria" in c.1890 but was renamed "Holyrood" in 1911 by W. J. Adams. The elaborate stone façade in the Baroque style came from the original City Bank building in Pitt Street, designed by George Allen Mansfield of Mansfield Brothers, which was gutted by a fire in 1890. The stonework was dismantled and transported in sections here. A Victorian Italianate style building stands behind the façade which after 1936 became part of Catholic private school Santa Sabina College.

Glebe, viaduct

This viaduct cuts through the middle of Wentworth Park, in inner west suburb of Glebe. It was built in 1922 to carry the freight railway line between Darling Harbour and Rozelle Goods Yards. It now carries the Central to Dulwich Hill line of the Sydney Light Rail Network. This is a historical photo from ten years ago, proven by the blue Variotram which operated from 1997 but was replaced by the red CAF Urbos 2 trams in 2014.

Clovelly, surf life saving club, mural

Clovelly Surf Life Saving Club is located along Donnellan Circuit, in the eastern suburb of Clovelly. The mural was created in 2023 by street artist Matt Adnate depicting surf life savers in action at Clovelly Beach and what is described as Clovelly's most beloved resident, the iconic blue groper.

Walsh Bay, sculpture

'Reflections' by Phillip Piperidis is a sculpture which was located at Walsh Bay wharves at Dawes Point. It was part of the 2022 Walsh Bay Sculpture Walk, run by ArtPark Australia, which exhibits contemporary sculpture in public spaces.

Rockdale, Gujaga Park, sculpture

 

This sculpture is located in Gujaga Park, in the southern suburb of Rockdale. It features depictions of threatened species of plants in the state with their general name and scientific name. They are Sydney Plains Greenhood, Biconvex Paperbark, Kangaloon Sun Orchid, Sunshine Wattle and Magenta Lilly Pilly.

Rockdale, Gujaga Park, playground

Eveleigh, Locomotive Street, sign

 
The entrance to the former Locomotive Workshops along Locomotive Street, in the inner city suburb of Eveleigh. The signage piece features three large sculptural drums inspired by train driving wheels, consisting of weathered corten steel with a black welded wire mesh used as planters.

Eveleigh, workshop

Eveleigh Works is an industrial blacksmithing workshop located in Bay 3 of the former Locomotive Workshop along Locomotive Street, in the inner city suburb of Eveleigh. This heritage listed Locomotive Workshop was built in 1877, consisting of 16 bays originally used for one or more trades required to repair or manufacture locomotives and their components. The Rainbow Serpent sculpture displayed on the wall was created here in 2022.

Eveleigh, pub

This pub and restaurant is located in Bay 1 and Bay 2 of the former Locomotive Workshop along Locomotive Street, in the inner city suburb of Eveleigh. It opened in 2022 and is operated by Brewdog, a Scottish craft brewery. The venue can accommodate up to 900 people across its indoor bar and leafy outdoor beer garden.

St Peters, mural

This is part of a mural called "The Spirit of St Peters" which is on the side of an industrial building on the corner of Princes Highway and Campbell Road, in the inner west suburb of St Peters. It was designed and hand-painted by street artist Alex Lehours in 2022. The mural celebrates two local businesses that occupied this building in the past. This half of the mural features City Star Motors (30 years) and the other half features Antoniou Fillo Pastry (60 years).

Little Bay, The Wishing Bell

'The Wishing Bell' is a monument located along Brodie Avenue at the former Prince Henry Hospital site, in the eastern suburb of Little Bay. It stands opposite the clock tower and heritage listed hospital buildings which are now a museum. The bell on this monument was formerly on the clock tower of the Coast Hospital, established here in 1881 to deal with a growing epidemic of Smallpox in Sydney. To commemorate the centenary of the hospital in 1981, the bell was mounted on a pedestal made of stonework from the lodge which marked the original entrance to the hospital.

MLC Centre, forecourt

The forecourt of the former MLC Centre now just known as 25 Martin Place. The tower was designed by Harry Seidler and built in 1977 but the two fountains were installed here in 2022.

King Street Wharf, The Jackson

 
'The Jackson' is a luxury event function vessel which is moored at King Street Wharf. It can host up to 700 guests and is named for Port Jackson, the name for Sydney Harbour. It is enabled by 'The Jackson Flyer' which is a 60 person tender vessel that allows guests to board from almost all ferry wharves and private Marinas.

Ultimo, University of Technology Sydney, Green Genie

 
The Green Genie is located outside the University of Technology Sydney, along Jones Street in the inner city suburb of Ultimo. It is part of UTS Algal Phenomics Facility which can rapidly screen, test, evolve and characterise algae to optimise their potential for developing new products, accelerate production and innovate sustainable biology. The Green Genie fits into a standard six-metre shipping container for direct air carbon capture, wastewater treatment and algae biomass production that at full capacity is expected to capture up to seven tonnes of carbon a year; and provides a scale-solution to create algae-based products including plastics, food and feed.

Monterey, picnic shelter

This picnic shelter is located at Cook Park overlooking Botany Bay and Lady Robinsons Beach, in the eastern suburb of Monterey. It features the logo of Bayside Council which is the local government area.

Barangaroo House

Barangaroo House is located along Barangaroo Avenue in the inner city suburb of Barangaroo. This three level entertainment venue with harbour views was designed by Collins and Turner. The balconies are clad in concentric timber dowels, charred using the traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique which creates a dark finish that enhances weatherproof properties so it requires little maintenance. The planters integrated into the curved plan are used to grow ornamental and edible plants for use in the restaurants. House Bar is a casual bar and restaurant on the ground floor. Rekōdo Restaurant and Vinyl Bar which are a nod to Japanese listening rooms are on the first floor and Smoke is a cocktail bar at the top.

Marrickville, library

Marrickville Library and Pavilion is located on the corner of Marrickville Road and Livingstone Road in the inner west suburb of Marrickville. It was designed by BVN Architecture and built in 2019. Its front signature poles were wrapped in the LGBTIQA+ progress pride colours to create the Pride Pavilion celebrating Sydney WorldPride 2023.

Barangaroo, Watermans Cove

 
This walkway is located beside Watermans Cove between the Barangaroo ferry wharves and Crown Sydney casino in Barangaroo. Rainbow Walk is a 100 metre LGBTIQA+ rainbow installed to celebrate Sydney WorldPride 2023.

Pullman Sydney Hyde Park

Pullman Sydney Hyde Park is a high rise hotel located along College Street, opposite Hyde Park. The facade of this hotel has been decorated with LGBTIQA+ colours for Sydney WorldPride 2023.

Darlinghurst, Oxford Street

A view of Oxford Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst, near the intersection with College Street, Wentworth Avenue and Liverpool Street. This was the entrance to the Oxford Street Party which was held on the last day of Sydney WorldPride 2023 on 5 March 2023. The corner of the Burdekin Hotel has been decorated with LGBTIQA+ rainbow colours.

Newtown, Camperdown Memorial Rest Park

 
This walkway runs through Camperdown Memorial Rest Park, in the inner city suburb of Newtown. Camperdown Cemetery was consecrated in 1849 and remained the main burial ground for the Church of England until the opening of Rookwood Cemetery in 1868. St Stephen's Anglican Church was built in the middle of it in 1874, still standing behind the graffitied sandstone wall. All but four acres of the cemetery were resumed in 1948 to create this park. The lamps were decorated in 2023 with LGBTIQA+ progress pride colours to create the Pride Pathway

George Street, QVB light rail stop

The QVB Light Rail Stop is located along George Street, between the Queen Victoria Building and Hilton Hotel. It is part of the CBD and South East Light Rail and this view is looking south towards the Pavilion on George building. The light poles feature LGBTIQA+ rainbow flag banners to celebrate Sydney WorldPride 2023.

Darlinghurst, Kinselas Hotel

Kinselas Hotel is located at Taylor Square, on the corner of Bourke Street and Campbell Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. The facade of the building has a striking painted mural which was designed by Mikey Nolan from Double Rainbouu for Sydney WorldPride 2023.

MLC Centre, forecourt

 The forecourt of the former MLC Centre now just known as 25 Martin Place. This terraced entrance from Martin Place has small cylindrical benches which are very popular with office workers at lunchtime on weekdays but on weekends you can have the whole place to yourself, as seen here. The forecourt has been decorated with rainbow colours and LGBTIQA+ flags for Sydney WorldPride 2023 which runs from 17 February to 5 March 2023.

Barangaroo, Colours of Love

These stairs between the lift and escalators lead up to the Sussex Street Bridge, in the inner city suburb of Barangaroo. The pedestrian bridge over Sussex Street links Exchange Place to Napolean Plaza and Wynyard Walk. The stairs have been decorated with the Colours of Love to celebrate Sydney WorldPride 2023 from 17 February to 5 March 2023.

Barangaroo, Colours of Love

The Colours of Love stage and benches located beside Watermans Cove and the ferry wharves in the inner city suburb of Barangaroo. It is one of the pop-up venues that has been set up around the city to celebrate Sydney WorldPride 2023 which runs from 17 February to 5 March 2023. This DJ didn't have any music fans joining him up close in the afternoon but he was a popular attraction in the evening and later at night. Across Darling Harbour are the wharves at Pyrmont.

Newtown, Bank Hotel

The Bank Hotel is located along King Street, in the inner west suburb of Newtown. This heritage listed pub was originally built in the Victorian architectural style but was altered in the Federation era and then again when its facade was rebuilt in 1934 in the Art Deco architectural style. The hotel has been decorated with rainbow colours and LGBTIQA+ flags for Sydney WorldPride 2023 which runs from 17 February to 5 March 2023.

Surry Hills, Bourke Street Bakery (Theme Day: Comfort Food)

Bourke Street Bakery is on the corner of Bourke Street and Devonshire Street, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. This bakery and cake shop opened in 2004 and has now successfully expanded to twelve locations in Sydney. Since 2019, it has also opened in five locations in New York City. They serve artisan breads, meat pies, sausage rolls, quiches, biscuits, cakes, fresh sandwiches and salads. The side of this shop features a giant mural of a baker.
