Martin Place, Christmas Tree

This large Christmas Tree is in the Martin Place pedestrian mall, near the General Post Office. The decorations are baubles and Australian native flowers. The buildings in the distance are the ANZ Bank and MLC Centre.

Woolworths Building, Christmas





The façade of the Woolworths building, on the corner of George Street and Park Street. Using Twinkly lighting technology with 91,500 LED lights, the façade became a programmable canvas for a dynamic light show and Christmas storytelling.

General Post Office, Christmas


The western façade of the General Post Office (GPO) building, along George Street near the corner of Martin Place. It has been lit up with green and red festive lighting for Christmas, as well as red and white candy cane inspired stripes.

Martin Place, Christmas Tree

These colourful light displays are on the large Christmas Tree in the Martin Place pedestrian mall. The facade and clock tower of the General Post Office have also been lit up in the red and green festive colours.

 The annual light projection show on the façade of St Mary's Cathedral, as part of 'Christmas at the Cathedral' celebrations. It included an animated feature with music, telling the story of 'The Little Drummer Boy'.

St Mary's Cathedral, Christmas




The annual light projection show on the façade of St Mary's Cathedral, as part of 'Christmas at the Cathedral' celebrations, running from 17th December until 25th December. At the end, a menorah with candles was featured as a tribute to the Jewish victims of the recent Bondi tragedy.

Barangaroo, Native Living Christmas Trees


This is one of the Native Living Christmas Trees which have been installed along Wulugul Walk in Barangaroo. Each tree has been designed by Nadia Duran and created with Australian native plants. This one uses Westringia Fruticosa (Coastal Rosemary), a hardy, evergreen shrub. The trees are also adorned with artwork by First Nations artist Rubyrose Bancroft.

Circular Quay, light rail stop

The Circular Quay Light Rail Stop is located at the northern end of the Central Business District on Alfred Street, between Pitt Street and Loftus Street. It is the final destination on the CBD and South East Light Rail service. These trams will soon be departing for the eastern suburb of Randwick and Kingsford. Quay Apartments is the residential building in the distance. Circular Quay railway station is on the left and the recently renovated AMP Building is on the right.

The Rocks, Christmas Village

 
This Christmas decoration is located along the Nurses Walk, in The Rocks. ‘Christmas Village’ is an artwork created by illustrator and muralist Nico Nicoson. These miniature buildings are modelled on the historic buildings found within the sandstone laneways of The Rocks, decorated with an essence of an Australian Christmas.

Cockle Bay Wharf, Christmas


This tinsel Christmas decoration has been installed in front of the Cockle Bay Wharf building at Darling Harbour. Santa Claus is lying back on an inflatable reindeer pool ring in shorts, thongs and sunglasses, sipping on a cool drink.
