Ramsgate Beach, groyne and baths

This view of Botany Bay is from the southern suburb of Ramsgate Beach. The rock groyne is one of the sea walls along Lady Robinson Beach which have been built to protect the sandy foreshore. Ramsgate Baths is a tidal pool consisting of plastic tubes and a mesh shark net.

Ramsgate Beach, groyne and baths


A view of Botany Bay, in the southern suburb of Ramsgate Beach. This rock groyne is one of the sea walls along Lady Robinson Beach which have been built to protect the sandy foreshore. A marker and light sits at the end of the groyne with a sign warning people to keep off the rock wall. Ramsgate Baths is a tidal pool which was rebuilt here in 2015, consisting of plastic tubes and a mesh shark netThis part of Botany Bay has been used for public sea-water bathing since 1924 with the original Ramsgate Baths also known as Pemberton's Baths.
