Balmain, house

 This heritage listed two storey commercial building is located along Beattie Street, in the inner west suburb of Balmain. It was built in 1910 for iron monger Alex Smith Ltd but is now used as a residence.

Earlwood, shops

These shops and residences above are located on the corner of Wardell Road and Bass Road in the inner west suburb of Earlwood. 'Adora' is a cafe and shop which sells handmade chocolates, confectionary, cakes and gelato.

This street art is on the side wall of a take-away shop along Victoria Street, in the inner west suburb of Lewisham. Although the artwork is not signed, it looks like it was created by notable graffiti artist Phibs.

Barangaroo, Mercantile Walk

Barangaroo, bench


A bench in the shape of a giant upturned foot is located outside Sydney Barbers, on the corner of Mercantile Walk and Scotch Row at Barangaroo. It is part of an art installation called "Upside-Down Garden" created in 2025.

Glebe, Broadway Shopping Centre, Deadly


‘Stay Deadly’ is an indigenous artwork by Jessica Johnson which has been installed in the four storey void of Broadway Shopping Centre in the inner west suburb of Glebe. NAIDOC Week 2026 which ran from Sunday 5 July to Sunday 12 July, with this year's theme 50 Years of Deadly celebrating 50 years of NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee). Deadly means excellent, fantastic or cool. The artwork features the rainbow serpent made up of various colourful elements.

This historic shop is located along Willison Road in the southern suburb of Carlton. The building had fallen into disrepair but in 2021 the facade was restored to its former glory and is now used as a house.

Sutherland, shops


This commercial development faces Old Princes Highway and backs onto Eton Street, in the southern suburb of Sutherland. Although this is not a heritage building, it was designed to look like other historic buildings in the area. This is a historic photo too since it was taken in 2006 and the property management agent tenants have since moved out.

Newtown Garden Market is a plant nursery and garden centre along King Street, in the inner city suburb of Newtown. The artwork featuring plants and animals was created in 2023 by street artist Reubszz.

Eveleigh, Locomotive Workshop


The heritage listed Locomotive Workshop is part of the former Eveleigh Railway Yards, located along Locomotive Avenue in the inner city suburb of Eveleigh. It was built in 1877 for trades required to repair or manufacture locomotives and their components. It has been redeveloped into commercial and retail space including this supermarket on the ground floor with a gym above.

These shopfronts with residences and offices above are located along Oxford Street, in the inner city suburb of Paddington. Varqa is a clothier and tailor, BWS is a liquor shop, Nature Bay sells clothes for babies and children, Paddington Nails is a manicurist and pedicurist and a Dentistry is above.

Rose Bay, post office


The former post office along New South Head Road, in the eastern suburb of Rose Bay. It was built in 1928 in the inter-war style. After the post office moved out, it was redeveloped along with an adjoining property to become a Woolworths Metro supermarket.

Myer, department store, entrance


This is the main entrance to the Myer department store on the corner of George Street and Market Street. The store celebrated the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival, which ran from 13 February to 1 March 2026, with rainbow flag colours decorating their store sign and the stairs inside the entrance.

Westfield Sydney, Lunar New Year

This Lunar New Year display of a Fire Horse is hanging in the atrium of Westfield Sydney shopping centre, below Sydney Tower. In the Chinese zodiac, there are twelve animals and five elements. This year is the Year of the Horse and the element is Fire. The illuminated maple trees are also an annual feature and can also be seen here.

Queen Victoria Building, Lunar New Year, Horse

 

This Lunar New Year installation was on the ground in the central atrium of the Queen Victoria Building (QVB). In the Chinese zodiac, this year is the Year of the Horse. The horse in the horse shoe was surrounded by images of the other zodiac animals.
