Leichhardt Town Hall is located on the corner of Norton Street and Marion Street, in the inner west suburb of Leichhardt. It was designed by Drake & Walcotand built in 1888 in the Victorian Free Classical style.
A lovely photo a wonderful building. Since I have never been to Sydney or Australia for that matter I lookd forward to visiting your blog. Thank you for stopping by and visiting at my place. Teri
Seriously I think someone has to reveal the truth about building this magnificent building in 8 months from start to finish 20,000 tons of sandstone' 150 tons of scaffolding, ornate arches with corbels and reliefs heavy all over the building' built by who? A hell of a lot of infrastructure had to be used to accommodate the construction' massive quarrying' enormous cutting saws' huge labour force ??? And that's not including the internal works' Doesn't add up no matter what way that you look at it!
