St Brigid's Catholic Church is located on the corner of Marrickville Road and Livingstone Road, in the inner west suburb of Marrickville. This heritage listed church was designed by John Bede Barlow and competed in 1936 in the Inter-War Spanish Mission architectural style.
Beautiful church, gorgeous blue, blue skies and a perfect shadow shot for the day as always, Jim!
ReplyDeleteThe shadow is almost dwarfed by the impressive building and blue sky. I had to look for it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Spanish Mission, especially for religious buildings like churches and monasteries. The Marrackville Church looks fresh and approachable.

ReplyDeleteFirst thing I thought of before I read your words) was our Southwest!
ReplyDeleteThe church is beautiful - cool seeing this Spanish mission style in Oz, as I envision this to be in the American southwest instead. Yet, sacred style can be found the world wide. Nice find!
ReplyDelete1st thought was it looks like a lighthouse - so similar in my book. ( :

ReplyDeleteps. PLS change your comment settings to URL/name option - openID is not working anymore and my id in Blogger is to my old Blogger blog, thank you!
my blog is here >>> BLOGitse
BLOGitse, that comment option isn't available. I have it set to "Registered Users". The only other options are "User with Google Accounts" and "Only members of this blog" which would be more restrictive. Unfortunately setting it to "Anyone" can no longer be an option since spammers can flood the blog with spam that way.
DeleteThat tower looks like it was built for archers.
