Balmain East, Sydney Water Police

The Sydney Water Police has its base at Camerons Cove, in the inner west suburb of Balmain East. It comprises of the Marine Command Area complex and marina. It was built in 2005, replacing facilities in Pyrmont. It has a spectacular backdrop of the Sydney skyline.

Wolli Creek, St Magdalen's Chapel

St Magdalen's Chapel is located in the southern suburb of Wolli Creek. The Sisters of the Good Samaritan bought the Greenbank estate in 1884 to use as a charitable refuge for women. The chapel was designed by Sheerin & Hennessy in the Victorian neo-Gothic architectural style and built it in 1888. In recent years it has been deconsecrated and restored to form part of the Discovery Point residential redevelopment site.

Millers Point, wharf

A sunset view of Pier 9 at Walsh Bay, in the inner city suburb of Millers Point. The Walsh Bay wharves were originally part of Sydney's port facilities but have now been converted into theatres, offices, hotels, apartments, restaurants, cafes and shops. The office buildings seen in the distance are at North Sydney.

Hurstville, fire station

The former Hurstville Fire Station is located in MacMahon Street, in the southern suburb of Hurstville. It was built in 1912 in the Federation Free architectural style. It has been restored and is now part of a residential and commercial building.

Hurstville Grove, Moore Reserve Wetland

The Moore Reserve Wetland is located in the southern suburb of Hurstville Grove. Moore Reserve was created in the 1960s by infilling with mud dredged from Oatley Bay. An artificial wetland was constructed in 2001 using natural processes to treat 95% of all stormwater run off from the 125-hectare catchment before it enters Oatley Bay.

This shopfront and residential building is located on Scott Street, in the south western suburb of Liverpool. It was originally built in 1875 but was restored and refurbished in 2002. It currently houses a Dental Surgery and Chiropractic Practice.

Liverpool, Pioneers’ Memorial Park

Pioneers’ Memorial Park is bounded by Campbell Street, Macquarie Street and the Hume Highway, in the south western suburb of Liverpool. This was originally the site of St Lukes Cemetery. In 1970 the old cemetery was converted into a rest park, featuring original headstones and a memorial wall. This was the resting place of many prominent pioneers of this area and their families.

Liverpool, Pioneers’ Memorial Park, monument

This memorial in 1980 in Pioneers’ Memorial Park in the south western suburb of Liverpool, was erected by Rotary International. It is dedicated to the men, women and children who through their pioneering spirit and determination established Macquarie Town, now known as Liverpool. This piece of old farming equipment on the plinth, reflects on the past.

Liverpool, All Saints Catholic Church

All Saints Catholic Church is located on the corner of George Street and Elizabeth Street, in the south western suburb of Liverpool. This church, built in 1963, is an example of post World War 2 ecclesiastical architecture with a feeling of gothic inspired simplicity. The sun was breaking through but the threatening grey sky brought the showers thundering down a few minutes later.

Mount Lewis, park

  Mount Lewis Reserve is located in the western suburb of Mount Lewis. It is unclear how the suburb got its name because it isn't much of a mountain, although this park is the highest point in the local government area of Bankstown, providing distant views.

Clarkes Point Reserve is located in the lower north shore suburb of Woolwich and provides spectacular views of Sydney Harbour. This lookout is one of the best vantage points on the harbour with views to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Sydney Olympic Park, ferry wharf

The reflection of the Sydney Olympic Park ferry wharf along the Parramatta River is enhanced by the golden afternoon sun. The wharf serves the western suburb of Wentworth Point, which was previously known as Homebush Bay. A regular service is provided by RiverCat ferries on the Parramatta River route of Sydney Ferries.

The sun shone through a grey sky above Banksia Free Church, located along Princes Highway in the southern suburb of Banksia. It was originally part of the parish of St. Paul's Church of England in Kogarah but broke away in 1890 to form its own congregation.

Port Botany, Sydney Ports Corporation

 The Sydney Ports Corporation is located in the eastern suburb of Port Botany, on the shore of Botany Bay. The facilities at Port Botany consist of two container terminals with six container vessel berths and a bulk liquids berth complemented by container support businesses, bulk liquid berth storage facilities and private berths at Kurnell.

Art Gallery of New South Wales

The entrance of the Art Gallery of New South Wales viewed across Art Gallery Road from the Domain. The building was designed by Walter Liberty Vernon in the Federation Academic Classical architectural style and opened in 1897. The banners promote the exhibitions of the Archibald Prize, Wynne Prize and the Sulman Prize, some of Australia's most prestigious art prizes.

Circular Quay, ferry wharves

The Circular Quay ferry wharves and ferries, viewed from the Circular Quay railway station platform. The Friendship is a First Fleet Class ferry and the Lady Northcott is a Lady Class ferry, both are part of the Sydney Ferries fleet. The ferry in the distance that has just departed is a Fantsea Charter ferry which operates on behalf of Sydney Ferries.

Sydney Town Hall, York Street

This side view of the Sydney Town Hall is from York Street. The heritage listed building was designed by John H. Wilson and completed in 1889 in the Grand Victorian Second Empire architectural style. In the background of this sandstone heritage building are contemporary skyscrapers the HSBC Centre on George Street and Lumiere in Bathurst Street. This view of the town hall is improved in Winter when the trees have dropped all their leaves.
