Martin Luther Kirche is a German Lutheran Church, along Gouburn Street, has historical significance as possibly the oldest Lutheran Church in Sydney, and the only Lutheran church surviving in central Sydney. It was designed by T. Dixon Chater and built in 1883 in the Victorian Romanesque architectural style.

ReplyDeleteThe Germanic look is perfect - simple and austere, it is a place where the interior won't be as grand as the cathedrals of Europe - but it is a place of quiet faith and worship as we humbly pray...

ReplyDeleteI can only imagine that when it was built, there was nothing around it, but now it is dwarfed and shadowed by the other buildings!
