Rockdale, Gujaga Park, sculpture (Theme Day: Stripes)

This sculpture is located in a garden bed in Gujaga Park, along West Botany Street in the southern suburb of Rockdale. The lizard is one of five large animal sculptures carved from sandstone. The striped appearance in the sandstone is due to the presence of different mineral grains creating different coloured sand layers during the formation of the rock.
