Lumiere, Bathurst Street

Lumiere is a residential and commercial building along Bathurst Street. This 56-storey tower was built in 2007. There's a glimpse of St Andrew's Cathedral in the foreground.

Paddington, Reservoir Gardens

The entrance to the Paddington Reservoir Gardens on Oxford Street, in the inner city suburb of Paddington. This former underground reservoir was renovated in 2009 to provide an urban sanctuary with lawns, flower beds, shaded seating and a water feature fish pond. The sign is embedded in the design of the gate.

Woollahra, fountain

This Victorian fountain is located in Davies Reserve, on the corner of Queen Street and Oxford Street, in the eastern suburb of Woollahra. It was restored and installed in 1987 by the Queen Street and West Woolhara Association in conjunction with Woolhara Municipal Council. It is also located opposite one of the entrances to Centennial Park.

Glebe, St Scholastica's College

This magnificent heritage building is part of St Scholastica's College, located in the inner west suburb of Glebe. This historic house, known as Toxteth Park, was designed by John Verge and built in 1829 in the Victorian Italianate architectural style. The estate was purchased by the Catholic Church in 1901 to become a convent and school. The building is now used as the Good Samaritan Congregational Centre by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan.

Annandale, mural

This is part of a large mural located on a wall along The Crescent, in the inner west suburb of Annandale. The retaining wall supports the metro tram line from Glebe to Lilyfield. The artwork is actually known as the "Glebe mural" and it features past and present images from the local area. It was commissioned by Leichhardt Council in 1980 and painted by Richard Monk..

Kings Cross, The Elan

The Elan is an apartment building that stands above the William Street tunnel at Kings Cross. At street level, it fronts Victoria Street, between Kings Cross Road and Craigend Street, technically in the inner city suburb of Rushcutters Bay. This 40-storey tower which was completed in 1997 contains residential and commercial space. To construct such a building above the road tunnel, required the main transfer beams which carry the load to be an average one metre wide, five storeys high and be anchored 20 metres into the bedrock.

Kings Cross, billboard

This Coca-Cola billboard is located at the intersection of William Street and Darlinghurst Road at Kings Cross, in the inner city suburb of Potts Point. The original neon logo billboard was erected in 1974, with the additional billboard on the left added in 1990. This famous billboard, attached to the Millennium Hotel, is the biggest in the southern hemisphere and viewed as an iconic landmark.

Little Bay, Coast Hospital

This heritage building was part of the former Prince Henry Hospital in the eastern suburb of Little Bay. Originally known as the Coast Hospital, it had its origins managing patients with infectious diseases such as the smallpox outbreak in 1881, the bubonic plague in 1900 and the spanish flu pandemic in 1919. The Coast Hospital was renamed the Prince Henry Hospital in 1934 and operated until 2001. The Prince Henry site has since been sold and is being redeveloped for housing. The restored 1914 wards of the hospital now house the Nursing and Medical Museum and a Community Centre.

Little Bay, clock tower

This clock tower is located along Brodie Avenue at the former Prince Henry Hospital site, in the eastern suburb of Little Bay. The clock was made in Blenheim, Germany in 1878, brought to Australia for the Sydney Exhibition held in the Domain in 1879. It was moved to the Botanical Gardens in 1882 and later to Bourke as the town clock. In 1898 it was erected at the Coast Hospital on a wood and corrugated iron tower. The three storey high brick clock tower with a copper roof and wind vane was built in 1953 as a memorial tower dedicated to those that served in the World War 2 airforce.

Looking across the rocks at Little Bay Beach to the Pacific Ocean, in the eastern suburb of Little Bay. A warm winter's day brought a few swimmers to the beach yesterday but they were vastly outnumbered by these seagulls.

These two Sydney skyscrapers are viewed from the walkway beside the Cahill Expressway, above Circular Quay railway station. The one on the left is 1 Bligh, a 29 storey office building completed in 2011. The one on the right is The Winter Garden, an office tower and retail complex.

Elizabeth Bay, The Jar

This contemporary sculpture is located in Beare Park on the Sydney Harbour foreshore, in the eastern suburb of Elizabeth Bay. "The Jar" was created by Timothy Perrett and carved from a hebel block, an autoclaved aerated concrete block. It was originally part of an exhibition of three artists, developing works in progress on the public footway outside the court house at Taylor Square at Darlinghurst in the mid-1990s and was later purchased by the City of Sydney for this park.

Rose Bay, signs (Theme Day: Numbers)

This signpost is located on the foreshore of the eastern suburb of Rose Bay. It is located beside the Sydney Seaplanes base on Sydney Harbour at Lyne Park. The signs show flight distances in mileson the traditional Empire Flying Boat route from Sydney to: Brisbane (480), Townsville (1200), Darwin (2404), Singapore (4681) and London (12847).
