Surry Hills, Evening Star Hotel

 
The Evening Star Hotel is located on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Cooper Street, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. The heritage listed pub was built in 1903 in the Federation Anglo-Dutch style replacing a hotel of the same name which had been constructed on the site prior to 1885.

Brighton-Le-Sands, beach

 

A view of Brighton-Le-Sands baths and across Botany Bay to the  cranes at Port Botany. It wasn't a great day for a swim at the beach but a young boy was amused by all the seagulls flying and walking around.

Central Chalmers Street, light rail stop

 
The Central Chalmers Street Light Rail Stop is located along Chalmers Street, beside Central Railway StationIt is part of the CBD and South East Light Rail Service, made up of the L2 Randwick Light Rail line and L3 Kingsford Light Rail line which run from Circular Quay. A Tangara or T set train can be seen departing the railway station.

Rose Bay, sculptures


These sculptures perched on high poles are located along the walkway in Lyne Park, near the ferry wharf, in the eastern suburb of Rose Bay. "Pelicans" were created by Folko Kooper, paying homage to the birds who frequently enjoy the harbour area of Rose Bay.

Willoughby, Exoskeleton Lift

The Exoskeleton Lift is at the former Willoughby Municipal Incinerator, located along Small Street, in the northern suburb of Willoughby. The polished stainless steel sculpture over a lift core was created by Richard Goodwin in 2011. The incinerator was built in 1934 but closed by the 1960s. In 1982 it became a restaurant and then in 1989 it was converted to office space. After it was damaged by fire, conservation works to restore the incinerator building began in 2008 with reuse as a community hall, artist studio and cafe.

The Madison Hotel is located on the corner of Devonshire Street and Randle Street, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. It was built in the Inter-War Style on the site of the former Subway Hotel.

Central Chalmers Street, light rail stop


The Central Chalmers Street Light Rail Stop is located along Chalmers Street, between Central Railway Station and the Dental Hospital, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. Alexandria, Lord Raglan Hotel

The Lord Raglan Hotel is located on the corner of Henderson Road and Wyndham Street, in the inner city suburb of Alexandria. It was built in 1925 in the art deco style.

Martin Place, art


This is part of an artwork on a hoarding around conservation work at the Colonial Mutual Life Insurance building on the corner of Martin Place and Pitt Street. "Koala 4ever" was created by Elin Matilda Andersson, as an homage to the Koala - all at once a love letter, an apology, a promise that humans will be endeavour to be better companions in the future. Let's never accept the koala becoming a mythical creature of the past.

Banksia, railway station

Banksia railway station is in the southern suburb of Banksia. It was built in 1884 as part of the Illawarra Line from Redfern to Hurstville but this shelter and lift to the subway concourse below were installed in 2021.

Woolloomooloo, Big Bus Sydney

 

Big Bus Sydney is a hop on–hop off tourist bus service that operates open-top double-decker bus tours around the Sydney Central Business District and out to Bondi Beach. This mural is on the side wall of the Botany View Hotel, on the corner of Darley Street and King Street, in the inner city suburb of Newtown. It was created by Dallas Clark and Stephen Evans in 2017 as part of the Perfect Match art program and highlights some of the local icons.

Waverley, bank

The former Commonwealth Bank is on the corner of Bronte Road and Albion Streets in the eastern suburb of Waverley. It was built in 1921 in the art deco style for the Government Savings Bank which merged with the Commonwealth Bank in 1931. After this branch closed, the building became a bottle shop in 2022.
