Redfern, railway station

Looking across the railway station platforms in the inner city suburb of Redfern. The station was upgraded in 2024 to feature a new southern concourse with six new lifts and stair access to Platforms 1-10.

Petersham, railway station

This view of a train is from footbridge above the platforms of the railway station in the inner west suburb of Petersham. The station opened in 1857 and is served by Sydney Trains T2 Leppington & Inner West Line and occasional T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line services. This train, however, is on another line which passes through but does not stop at this station.

Kingsford, mosaic (Theme Day: Sky)

This mosaic is on the side wall of a shop on the corner of Anzac Parade and Gardeners Lane, in the eastern suburb of Kingsford. The artwork was created in 1990 by artist Lloyd Kellerman. It depicts the Southern Cross, which was the plane flown by Australian aviators Charles Kingsford Smith and Charles Ulm with American crewmen Harry Lyon and James Warner, becoming the first people to cross the Pacific Ocean by air in 1928. The suburb is named after Kingsford Smith.

Kingsford, light rail and bus stop

Juniors Kingsford is a combined bus stop and light rail stop located along Anzac Parade in the eastern suburb of Kingsford. It is part of the CBD and South East Light Rail Service, made up of the L2 Randwick Light Rail line and L3 Kingsford Light Rail line which run from Circular Quay. The stop is located near the South Sydney Juniors Leagues Club, a venue which contains a fitness centre, function and entertainment spaces, bars and eateries.

Tamarama, bus shelter

This bus shelter is located along Marine Drive, in the eastern suburb of Tamarama. This bus stop is behind Tamarama Park at Tamarama Beach and replaced a historic bus shelter here. The image on the glass at the back is the historic Wonderland City, a major open-air amusement park which was located here between 1906 and 1911.

Haymarket, truck (Theme Day: Fruit)

This vintage truck is on permanent display at Paddy's Market in Haymarket. Signorelli Bros Fruit Shop were originally located in Willoughby and Lakemba but now have a nearby stall in the market. The truck is loaded with a variety of Australian native flowers.

Rozelle, Rozelle Bay, light rail stop

The Rozelle Bay light rail stop can be accessed from The Crescent and Bayview Crescent, in the inner west suburb of Rozelle. It is serviced by the Central to Dulwich Hill line of the Sydney Light Rail Network.

Lilyfield, Light Rail Heavy Maintenance Depot

The Light Rail Heavy Maintenance Depot is located along Lilyfield Road in the inner west suburb of Lilyfield. It was built in 2019 on the site of the former Rozelle Rail Yards. The depot was built for the Central to Dulwich Hill line of the Sydney light rail network. There are some prominent Sydney landmarks in the distance including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Rozelle motorway stacks, Crown Sydney, One Sydney Harbour, Anzac Bridge, the MLC Building and Sydney Tower.

Kensington, light rail

This tram makes its way past a contemporary apartment building along Anzac Parade, in the eastern suburb of Kensington. The L3 Kingsford Light Rail line is part of the CBD and South East Light Rail Service from Circular Quay to Kingsford via Central.

Bondi Beach, post office (Theme Day: White)

This post van is outside the post office along Hall Street, in the eastern suburb of Bondi Beach. The heritage listed building was originally built in 1938 in the Art Deco/Egyptian style for the Commonwealth Bank. The bank closed in 2009 and Australia Post moved in here in 2021. Australia Post vans were traditionally red but in recent years they have been replaced with white ones.

Sculpture by the Sea is the world's largest annual free public outdoor sculpture exhibition. The annual exhibition ran from 17th October to 3rd November 2025. It is located on the two kilometre coastal walk from Bondi to Tamarama. These sculptures at Marks Park in Tamarama have the Pacific Ocean and Bronte as a backdrop.

Thirroul, beach

 
A lifeguard approaches his beach buggy on Thirroul Beach, in the village of Thirroul, north of Wollongong. The name is derived from an Aboriginal word, 'Thurrural' said to mean 'the Valley of the Cabbage Tree Palms'.

Eveleigh, truck (Theme Day: Sweets)

The Organic Produce section of Romeo's Food Hall, an IGA supermarket in the former Locomotive Workshop Bays 3-4, along Locomotive Street in the inner city suburb of Eveleigh. This three wheel truck from Italy has been restored and is this week being used to display bananas and dates, while the half wine barrel has kale and oranges in it.

Sydenham, Track Inspection Vehicle

This Track Inspection Vehicle is passing through the railway station in the inner west suburb of Sydenham. MTPV1 is one of two Mechanised Track Patrol (MTP) vehicles used since 2014 which reduce the need for manual track inspections. They use laser-based technologies for track geometry, rail profile, rail corrugations and non-contact overhead wiring measurement.
