Mosman, Balmoral Bathers Pavilion
The Balmoral Bathers Pavilion at Balmoral Beach overlooks Middle Harbour, in the north shore suburb of Mosman. This heritage listed building was built in 1929 with influences from Mediterranean, Spanish Mission and Moorish architectural styles. Located along The Esplanade, it originally contained the changing facilities, lockers, showers and a kiosk for Balmoral Baths which were in use until 1967. It was converted into a restaurant and has had extensive modifications over the years but continues to operate as a restaurant and cafe today.

Coogee, Giles Baths
Giles Baths are located at the foot of the northern headland at Coogee Beach, in the eastern suburb of Coogee. It is a natural rock pool, also known as the "Bogey Hole" that looks out onto the Pacific Ocean. Oscar E Giles, a masseur, took over the lease of a building and pool at Dolphin Point in 1929. The building which contained a gym, hot sea baths and a sunbaking area was demolished in 2000 but the original doorway and sections of the wall remain as an entrance to the baths.

Coogee, substation
This heritage listed electricity substation No.141 is located along Brook Street, in the eastern suburb of Coogee. It was constructed by the Municipal Council of Sydney in 1931 in the Interwar Stripped Classical architectural style. It was designed to sympathetically match the adjacent St Brigid's Catholic Church. The extension in front of original building was added in 1953.

Coogee, Surf Life Saving Club
The Coogee Surf Life Saving Club is located high on the cliff, at the southern end of Coogee Beach, in the eastern suburb of Coogee. The club was founded in 1907 by a group of concerned locals who thought that the bathers needed protection from the dangers of the surf. The original clubhouse was a wooden shack built in 1910 which was replaced this art deco design clubhouse.

Coogee, Reclaiming Spirit
'Reclaiming Spirit', also known as the Bali Memorial, is located in Dunningham Reserve at Dolphin Point, in the eastern suburb of Coogee. Located at the end of a winding pathway, this bronze sculpture was created by Sasha Reid in 2003, dedicated to the Australian victims of the Bali bombings in 2002. There were twenty victims from the eastern suburbs, including six members of the Coogee Dolphins rugby league team. The sculpture represents three linked figures signifying family, friends and community.

Cook and Phillip Park Aquatic and Fitness Centre
The Cook + Phillip Park Aquatic and Fitness Centre sits partly below the square along College Street. It has lots of reflective surfaces, from its glass walls and ceilings to its rooftop and courtyard fountains, and all the indoor pools. The Parkes-Farmer Wing and the Barnet Wing of the Australian Museum, along William Street, can be seen behind it.

Macquarie Street, heritage plaque
This commemorative plaque is located along the footpath Macquarie Street near the state parliament building. These brass heritage plaques around the city commemorate heritage buildings, lost buildings from the past and some proposed buildings that were never built. This elaborate building was planned in 1888 to be built by 1901 but the plans were never realised.

Millers Point, Sydney Harbour Bridge
This view of Dawes Point and the Sydney Harbour Bridge is from Observatory Park on Observatory Hill, in the inner city suburb of Millers Point. The gun sits behind the South African War Memorial, which is dedicated to those who fought in the Boer War (1899-1902) in South Africa. It was one of eight Krupp 75mm QF Feldkanone L/24 used by the Transvaal Staatsartillerie from 1895.

Customs Square, sculpture
This giant coin sculpture has been installed in Customs Square at Circular Quay to encourage recycling and promote a Container Deposit Scheme. It consists of coloured water bottle to form an image of an Australian ten cent coin. Drink containers are the most littered items in Australia but with a cash for container scheme, a ten cent refund could reduce litter and increase recycling rates to 95%. The sculpture was made by Paper Moose productions, where over 50 per cent of the staff ride their bikes to work, even in winter. The structure is made with Thankyou Water bottles, where sales from each bottle contributes to one month's supply of water to a developing country. It also features LED lighting for a low-energy night-time display.

The Rocks, Arena Calcetto
Arena Calcetto is an installation along Playfair Street at The Rocks. Each of the six timber towers, 10 metres high, hide an individually handcrafted foosball table with custom-made players. They were created by a community collective known as Archrival, originally for the 13th Venice International Architecture Biennale in 2012 and will be here until 30 September 2014.

Circular Quay, ferry
This view of Sydney Harbour and the Circular Quay ferry wharves, towards Sydney Opera House and East Circular Quay is from the footpath beside the Cahill Expressway, above Circular Quay railway station. The Queenscliff is a Freshwater Class ferry acquired in 1983 and is part of the fleet that operates from Circular Quay to Manly. It was named Queenscliff after the northern suburb near Manly.

Camperdown, Victoria Park Pool (Theme Day: Celebrating Summer)
Victoria Park Pool is located in the middle of a nine-hectare park in the inner city suburb of Camperdown. Victoria Park is on the corner of City Road and Parramatta Road. It's actually winter in Australia right now so this outdoor pool wouldn't attract as many swimmers right now but this photo was taken in the middle of summer.
