Barangaroo, Vivid Sydney, Obstacle



This installation was located along Wulugul Walk at Barangaroo, near the Crown Sydney hotel and One Sydney Harbour apartments, for the Vivid Sydney Festival which ran from 22 May to 13 June 2026. "Obstacle" stretched 45 metres as both a barrier and beacon with blocks of luminous mesh creating a hypnotic corridor, with patterns glowing, flowing and gliding across its screens, synced to a radiant soundtrack.

Barangaroo, Crown Sydney and One Sydney Harbour

 
Looking across Darling Harbour to Crown Sydney and One Sydney Harbour at Barangaroo from the Darling Island Wharf. This River Class ferry​ passing by began operating in 2020 and was named after Liz Ellis, an Australian netball player and television presenter.

Kogarah, skyline


A view of the skyline in the southern suburb of Kogarah from the rooftop of a highrise apartment building along Montgomery Street. There is a concentration of apartment and office buildings in this suburb. Notable landmarks seen here are the new wing of St George Hospital, Resurrection of Christ Greek Orthodox Church, Kogarah Library and Kogarah Town Square.

Barangaroo, Darling Island Wharf


Looking across Darling Harbour, past a life preserver located on Darling Island Wharf, in the inner west suburb of Pyrmont. The tall buildings are Crown Sydney, One Sydney Harbour, International Towers, No.1 Shelley Street and Westpac Place. A First Fleet ferry heads towards Sydney Harbour as another departs Barangaroo ferry wharves.

Eveleigh, Entry Garden


A view of Entry Garden, with walkways and stairs which are a direct gateway from South Eveleigh up to Redfern railway station, in the inner city suburb of Eveleigh. In the distance is the heritage listed water tower and The Watertower apartments, formerly McMurtrie's shoe factory. The walls feature a tribute to Chisholm's Estate and Hutchison's Estate which were the names of the properties that later became the suburbs of Eveleigh and Redfern.

Breakfast Point, workshop

Behind this bench is a former workshop located along Peninsula Drive, in the inner west suburb of Breakfast Point. This heritage listed building was built in 1891 and was used as a Blacksmith's Workshop as part of the Mortlake Gas Works of the Australian Gaslight Company from 1884 to 1998. The building was most recently used as a sales office after the site was redeveloped into houses and high rise apartments.

This pergola is located along the boardwalk on Wharf 9/10 of Sydney Wharf, in the inner city suburb of Pyrmont. The redeveloped warehouse buildings on the wharves here have been converted to apartments, office space, restaurants, a museum and a marina. The Star Sydney can be seen in the distance which features a casino, bars, restaurants, shops, hotel rooms and apartments.
