Centennial Park, Federation Pavilion

The Federation Pavilion is located along the Grand Drive in Centennial Park and commemorates the inauguration of the Federation of Australia at this site on 1 January 1901. This rotunda was designed by Alexander Tzannes and erected in 1988, the Bicentennial year of European Settlement. It was constructed around the 'Commonwealth Stone' and features a glass domed ceiling with a colourful design. An inscription around the pavilion is from a 1901 poem 'Australia' by Bernard O'Dowd that reads: "Mammon or Millennial Eden". The building was renovated and plaques were added to celebrate the Centenary of the Federation of Australia on 1 January 2001.

Centennial Park, Frog Hollow

Frog Hollow is a formal garden area in Centennial Park, in the eastern suburbs. Originally the site of an open drain, Frog Hollow was established around the turn of the 20th century in the triangle formed by Grand Drive, Dickens Drive and Parkes Drive.It features nine circular garden displays planted with coloured and patterned plants such as this display currently in bloom.

Centennial Park, Federation Pavilion (Theme Day: Symmetry)

Centennial Park, bridge

This is one of the sandstone footbridges over the stormwater canal in Centennial Park, in the eastern suburbs. This footbridge was built around 1890 and links Frog Hollow with the Column Garden. The canal leads into Busbys Pond.

Moore Park, Comrie Memorial Fountain

Comrie Memorial Fountain is located along Federation Way, in the eastern suburb of Moore Park. The drinking fountain was located near St James Church at Queens Square and was originally erected in 1903 as a gift from Mrs Sophia Louisa Comrie, It was designed to be used by humans, horses and dogs. In 1934 it was moved to Drivers Road in Moore Park, where it stood until falling into disrepair and dismantled in 1995. It was reconstructed in 2011, close to the Robertson Road Gates entrance of Centennial Park.

Centennial Park, Superintendent’s Residence

The Superintendent’s Residence is located just inside the Paddington Gates entrance of Centennial Park along Oxford Street, in the eastern suburb of Paddington. This heritage listed building was was completed in 1888. Today, it can be hired as accommodation or for events.

These signs and flower bed are located just inside the Paddington Gates entrance to Centennial Park on the corner Oxford Street and Lang Road, providing access from the eastern suburb of Paddington.

Centennial Park, Taste of Sydney Festival

The Taste of Sydney Festival was held last weekend at Brazilian Fields, near Loch Avenue and Dickens Drive, in the centre of Centennial Park. This promotional display on the back of a ute for 666 Pure Tasmanian Vodka featured lemons, limes, tomatoes, chilli peppers and bottles of vodka in wooden barrels.

Centennial Park, Woollahra Reservoir, mural

Woollahra Reservoir is located along Oxford Street, in the eastern suburb of Centennial Park. After being repeatedly hit by graffiti vandals, the walls of the reservoir were painted with murals in 2015 by street artist Mike Watt. They feature images of foliage found in Centennial Park.
