Sydney skyline, Vivid Sydney

 The Sydney skyline illuminated for the annual the Vivid Sydney Festival, a festival of light, music, minds and food, which ran from 22 May to 13 June 2026. This view across Circular Quay was from the Overseas Passenger Terminal. The office towers rise above Circular Quay railway station and Circular Quay ferry wharves.

Barangaroo, International Towers, Vivid Sydney

Kogarah, skyline

There is a concentration of apartment and office buildings in this suburb. Notable landmarks seen here are the new wing of St George Hospital, Resurrection of Christ Greek Orthodox Church, Kogarah Library and Kogarah Town Square.

Barangaroo, Darling Island Wharf

Looking across Darling Harbour, past a life preserver located on Darling Island Wharf, in the inner west suburb of Pyrmont. Lilyfield, Light Rail Heavy Maintenance Depot

The Light Rail Heavy Maintenance Depot is located along Lilyfield Road in the inner west suburb of Lilyfield. It was built in 2019 on the site of the former Rozelle Rail Yards. The depot was built for the Central to Dulwich Hill line of the Sydney light rail network. There are some prominent Sydney landmarks in the distance including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Rozelle motorway stacks, Crown Sydney, One Sydney Harbour, Anzac Bridge, the MLC Building and Sydney Tower.

Darling Harbour, stairs

These stairs are adjacent to the Cockle Bay Wharf building and the W Hotel Sydney at Darling Harbour. They connect to a walkway along the Western Distributor flyovers linking to the Central Business District and Ultimo.

MLC Centre, Sydney Tower

 
A view of the MLC Centre and Sydney Tower from an entrance to Martin Place railway station along Castlereagh Street. The entrance is in a new office building called 39 Martin Place and provides access to the new metro line (M) opened in 2024 and old train line (T) opened in 1979.

Breakfast Point, workshop

Behind this bench is a former workshop located along Peninsula Drive, in the inner west suburb of Breakfast Point. This heritage listed building was built in 1891 and was used as a Blacksmith's Workshop as part of the Mortlake Gas Works of the Australian Gaslight Company from 1884 to 1998. The building was most recently used as a sales office after the site was redeveloped into houses and high rise apartments.

Martin Place, Christmas Tree

This large Christmas Tree is in the Martin Place pedestrian mall, near the General Post Office. The decorations are baubles and Australian native flowers. The buildings in the distance are the ANZ Bank and MLC Centre.

Commercial Traveller’s Association Business Club, MLC Centre

 
The Commercial Traveller's Association Business Club viewed from the corner of Martin Place and Castlereagh Street with the skyscraper formerly known as the MLC Centre rising high above. The building with 2 floors and the tower with 67 floors, completed in 1977, were designed by Harry Seidler.

Breakfast Point, gate house (Theme Day: Breakfast)

The main entrance to the inner west suburb of Breakfast Point, which was named to honour the point of contact between Europeans and Aborigines. Captain John Hunter's expedition were exploring the Parramatta River and having breakfast here on 5th February 1788 when they encountered the traditional owners of the land, the Wangal Clan. John Hunter, later became the Governor of New South Wales. This was once the site of the Mortlake Gas Works of the Australian Gaslight Company from 1884 to 1998. Located beside the Parramatta River,  it was ideal for the shipping of coal used in the process of carbonisation to obtain gas. The process was discontinued in 1971 when natural gas from the interior of Australia began being piped here, processed by giving it an odour for safety reasons and then distributed to consumers throughout the Sydney area. The site was redeveloped to create a high density residential area with houses and high rise apartments. The historic gate house and offices have been retained and reused.

King Street Wharf, ferry

This ferry makes its way past King Street Wharf. The Borrowdale is a First Fleet Class ferry that was acquired in 1985 and is part of the Sydney Ferries fleet that operates services on inner harbour routes. It was named Borrowdale, after the one of eleven ships of the First Fleet that sailed to Australia in 1787.

Sutherland, council chambers

The Sutherland Shire council chambers is located along Eton Street, in the southern suburb of Sutherland. The council is displaying a Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks banner, supporting the local rugby league club which is currently playing in the national rugby league (NRL) finals.
