Waverley, war memorial

Waverley Soldier's Memorial is located in Waverley Park, in the eastern suburb of Waverley. It depicts an ANZAC soldier standing on a plinth, holding a rifle to his side. It was dedicated in 1918 and erected in honour of the citizens who enlisted for service in the Great War of 1914-1918. Today is ANZAC Day, which marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War in 1915.

Broadway, Grace Brothers department store, clock tower

This clock tower and globe lamp are part of the former Grace Brothers department store along Broadway, in the inner city suburb of Ultimo. It was built in the Federation Queen Anne architectural style as part of the flagship building of the department store and matching the original building across the road, completed in 1904. Grace Bros vacated the Broadway store in 1992 and these buildings were restored and redeveloped in 1998. This building became student accommodation for the nearby University of Sydney. Broadway is the name of the road that runs from Railway Square to the University of Sydney and is the border between the suburbs of Ultimo and Chippendale, Glebe and Camperdown.

Waverley, reservoir

This heritage listed water reservoir is located along Paul Street, in the eastern suburb of Waverley. Nicknamed "Stonehenge", Waverley Reservoir No.1 was completed in 1887 and was the last of four reservoirs built to augment the Botany Swamps Scheme. The other three reservoirs were Crown Street Reservoir in 1859, Paddington Reservoir in 1864 and Woollahra Reservoir in 1880.

Chiswick, ferry wharf

This ferry wharf is located on the southern side of the Parramatta River, in the inner west suburb of Chiswick. It is served by First Fleet and RiverCat class ferries operating between Circular Quay and Parramatta. A river cat ferry is seen here just after departure from the wharf, with the Gladesville Bridge further in the distance. This wharf was built in 2017 and replaced the one which can be seen here. A cormorant can be seen perched on the remains of a heritage listed stone wharf in the foreground, which was a private jetty established in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.

This sculpture of a dolphin is installed in the middle of a walkway alongside Bondi Surf Pavilion leading to the beach, in the eastern suburb of Bondi Beach. The Bondi Surf Pavilion was built in 1928 in the Inter-War Mediterranean architectural style.

Rodd Point, Dobroyd Aquatic Club

The Dobroyd Aquatic Club is on the shore of Iron Cove, in the inner west suburb of Rodd Point. It provides launching ramps for yachts, skiffs, dinghies and windsurfers. On this day, radio control laser class boats can be seen being removed from the water following an afternoon of sailing.

Haberfield, Iron Cove Creek Bridge

Iron Cove Creek Bridge is at the intersection of Henley Marine Drive and Timbrell Drive at Dobroyd Point, in the inner west suburb of Haberfield. This cable bridge is 30 metres long and 4.5 metres wide spanning the Iron Cove Creek canal with a bi-directional separated cycleway and footpath connecting. It was built in 2015 and features a public art installation from local artist Angela Pasqua which acknowledges the local bird life.

Carss Park Cottage, pergola

This pergola is at the entrance to Carss Park Cottage, a sandstone cottage built in 1860 by William Carss. It is now a museum which sits in the middle of Carss Bush Park, in the southern suburb of Carss Park. The cottage and recreational area overlook Kogarah Bay and the Carss Park Tidal Baths.

Carrington Street, mural

This mural is on a construction hoarding around a development work site along Carrington Street. The design was originally created for the City of Sydney New Year's Eve celebrations in 2013. "Gumscape with Animals and Spacecraft" was created by Reg Mombassa and features gum tree trunks, suburban architecture, technological infrastructure, genetically modified flora and fauna spacecraft and Sydney icons: the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.
