Darlinghurst, substation

This former electricity substation No.6 with underground public toilets is located at Taylor Square between Oxford Street and the intersection of Forbes and Bourke Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. The heritage-listed building was designed by Robert Hargreave Brodrick and built from 1904 to 1907 with Owen Ridge & Sons building the substation and G. D. Getherson the underground public conveniences.

Darlinghurst, rainbow crossing

This progressive pride rainbow crossing has been installed at Taylor Square, on the corner of Bourke Street and Forbes Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. It stands outside the former Darlinghurst police station which was repurposed in 2024 as Qtopia, a museum of queer history and culture.

This former corner shop with residence above is located on the corner of Liverpool Street and Bourke Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. The building has been redeveloped with an extension behind the shop and an additional two floors added above for apartments. The shop on the corner is now The Mayflower cafe,

A number of heritage listed buildings along Oxford Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst, are currently being redeveloped. The hoardings around these buildings have been decorated with rainbow colours and murals which tell the history of the LGBTIQA+ community in this area. This sign features Flags of Importance including the Rainbow flag, the Australian Aboriginal flag and Torres Strait Islander flag.

This terrace house is located along Forbes Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. "Nelson House" was built in 1880 and is now part of the Sydney Church of England Girls' Grammar School (SCEGGS) campus.

Australian Museum, William Street

These buildings along William Street are part of the Australian Museum in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. The original Barnet Wing with an entrance along College Street was built in the 1880s in the neo-classical style is partly seen here on the right. The Collections and Research Building on the left was completed in 2008 and the Parkes-Farmer Wing in the centre was completed in 1963.

Darlinghurst, mural

A view of the flower wall and mural, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. The flower wall which is located along Darlinghurst Road, above the William Street tunnel at Kings Cross, was decorated with rainbow colours for Sydney WorldPride 2023. 'Still Thriving' is a 40 metre mural by Dylan Mooney on the side of the Top of the Town apartment building, which is along Victoria Street and Darlinghurst Road. It depicts two young Indigenous men embracing each other with imagery of a rainbow ribbon and native wattle sprinkled across it. The heritage building on the corner is Darlinghurst Fire Station.

Darlinghurst, Oxford Street

A view of Oxford Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst, near the intersection with College Street, Wentworth Avenue and Liverpool Street. This was the entrance to the Oxford Street Party which was held on the last day of Sydney WorldPride 2023 on 5 March 2023. The corner of the Burdekin Hotel has been decorated with LGBTIQA+ rainbow colours.

Darlinghurst, Kinselas Hotel

Kinselas Hotel is located at Taylor Square, on the corner of Bourke Street and Campbell Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. The facade of the building has a striking painted mural which was designed by Mikey Nolan from Double Rainbouu for Sydney WorldPride 2023.

Darlinghurst, murals

This heritage listed building is located along Oxford Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. It actually takes up the whole block so is also bounded by Crown Street, Foley Street and Palmer Street. The building is currently being redeveloped as part of the Oxford and Folley project, creating commercial office spaces, retail spaces for boutiques, restaurants and bars, cultural and creative spaces and newly built rooftop levels across three blocks. The area is currently hosting a number of Sydney WorldPride 2023 events and the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras on Saturday night. The hoardings of the buildings being redeveloped have been decorated with rainbow colours and murals created by Amy Blue, which tell the history of the LGBTIQA+ community in this area.

 This mural is painted on the side of a record shop along Goulburn Street, between Crown Street and Arnold Lane, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. It was created by notable graffiti artist Phibs.

Darlinghurst,, St. Peter's Anglican Church

St. Peter's Anglican Church is located on the corner of Bourke Street and St Peters Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. This heritage listed church was designed by O. H. Lewis and built in 1867 in the Gothic Revival style.

Taylor Square, rainbow flag (Theme Day: Rainbow)

This giant rainbow flag flies above Taylor Square, on the corner of Oxford Street and Flinders Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. Standing 18 metres high, the flag was installed in 2014 and became a permanent public artwork to honour the importance of the area's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community. The fountain is in the pedestrian mall which was once part of Bourke Street and behind it is a rainbow crossing.

Darlinghurst, memorial (Theme Day: Pink)

This memorial is located in Green Park, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Holocaust Memorial was designed by Russell Rodrigo and Jennifer Gamble and opened in 2001. In the form of a pink triangle and black poles, it commemorates the gay men and lesbian women who were murdered, tortured or persecuted because of their sexuality, by the Nazis during World War II. The pink triangle was one of the Nazi concentration camp badges, used to identify male prisoners who were sent there because of their homosexuality. Green Park is near the Sydney Jewish Museum and Darlinghurst is considered the heart of Sydney's gay and lesbian population.

Darlinghurst, Taylor Square, rainbow crossing

This "Rainbow Crossing" is on the corner of Bourke Street and Campbell Street at Taylor Square, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. The crossing was installed for this year's Sydney Mardi Gras coming up on Saturday night. The former Commercial Bank building, which is available for lease, stands behind it.

Darlinghurst, Three Saints Square

This sculpture and bench are located in Three Saints Square which is bounded by Victoria Street, Oxford Street and Barcom Avenue, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. Three Saints Square was named in 2008 to recognise a trio of local landmarks: St Vincent's Hospital, the Notre Dame University campus and St Sophia Greek Orthodox Church.

Darlinghurst, St John's Anglican Church

St John's Anglican Church is located along Darlinghurst Road, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. This heritage listed sandstone church was designed by J.F. Hilly in the Gothic Revival style and built in 1858. The noted architect, Edmund Blacket, designed later additions such as the north and south transepts, spire and chancel.

Green Park Hotel is located along Victoria Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. This heritage listed pub was built in 1893 in the Federation style, with influences of Free Classical and Arts and Crafts styles.

This former corner shop with attached terrace residence is located on the corner of Riley Street and Stanley Stree, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. This heritage listed building was purpose built as a butchery at ground floor with residence above around 1880, in the Victorian Free Classical Style. It is now home to Verde, an Italian restaurant and bar.
