This progressive pride rainbow crossing has been installed at Taylor Square, on the corner of Bourke Street and Forbes Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. It stands outside the former Darlinghurst police station which was repurposed in 2024 as Qtopia, a museum of queer history and culture.

And it stands out a bit.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely good to see this.
ReplyDeleteSo colourful
ReplyDeleteMakes a good statement.
ReplyDeleteColorful, and making a statement that wouldn't have been possible even a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteGood to see this colorful display signifying human rights.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite parts of any gayborhood would be the rainbows. The world could use a little more color. 🌈
ReplyDeleteLooks great after the freshen up. #SundayBest. Do they march across it at Mardi Gras? I don't think so
ReplyDeleteThis is a brand new rainbow crossing at the other end of Taylor Square. It's across the square from Oxford Street so not on the parade path.
DeleteThat’s fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome
ReplyDeleteI like the Rainbow colors on the street. I also like them old buildings. Especially the one in left.
ReplyDeleteThat's the old police station.
DeleteThat is an amazing building! The street isn't so bad either! But, the round part of the building is great.
ReplyDeleteThe two streets once intersected further down but I think it's quite cool that they redirected the roads to curve around further back and create the square. It is now the perfect shape for a rainbow crossing.
DeleteBright and loud, as it should be. Thanks for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme. (NixPixMix)
