A glorious blue winter sky over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, viewed from Walsh Bay. Pier One on Dawes Point, overlooking Walsh Bay, was once part of Sydney's port facilities. It has now been converted into a hotel, apartments, shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. If you click on the photos to enlarge them, you can see a couple of adventurous groups of people doing the BridgeClimb on the Harbour Bridge.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I like that you gave us two slightly different views.
ReplyDeleteLovely blue skies. How nice to reinvent it into something that brings more life to the area.
ReplyDeleteYes Tricia. We have winter in the southern hemisphere when you have summer in the northern hemisphere. It's rather cool today but perfectly clear blue skies. I took these photos last weekend when it was also clear and much warmer. Winter but felt like late Spring.

Have a good weekend.
Look at those beautiful blue skies! I would never be able to climb that bridge! I might need medication just to drive over it. I have a real love/hate thing with bridges. They are so pretty but I'm always afraid they are going to fall.
ReplyDeleteThat's a view of Sydney Harbour Bridge I've never seen. A friend of mine did the bridge climb when she was in Oz. Me, I'd just like to have coffee outside the opera house and enjoy the view!
ReplyDeleteJanice.
Smashing photos. Wishing I could be there, someday.
ReplyDeleteGreat view of the bridge and sky to celebrate sky watch friday. People have to be very brave to be climbing up there.
ReplyDeleteThis is very impressive. How nice would it be to live there...what a view to wake up to every morning!
ReplyDeleteThose people "climbing" the bridge, though, must be out of the minds!
Wonderful photos!
That clear blue sky is so beautiful, both above and reflected below.
ReplyDeleteThere's always someone ready to climb a bridge, isn't there? I remember Budapest.
Beautiful shots. I like the change in perspective. But I wouldn't like to climb that brdige ...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
Wonderful shot. I havent seen the hotel at the base of the bridge before. It adds nicely to the bridge.

ReplyDeleteIs it safe to walk across the top of the bridge? It must be fun!
ReplyDeleteThe famous bridge! I allways see it at least once a year on TV because of the fireworks on New Year's Eve! :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful place to take a walk. Beautiful.

ReplyDeleteNice. Looks like an interesting place.
ReplyDeleteI love the architectural detail of the bridge against that blue sky. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I will do the walk! How amazing! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteYes Saretta. It's safe to climb up there because you take an organised tour with BridgeClimb Sydney. You wear a safety harness and protective clothing. They also conduct NightClimbs now using a head-mounted caving lamp.
ReplyDeleteGreat views and sky...just like our blue sky here in California. I've heard about that bridge walk...that's pretty high up...don't know if I could do it! Thanks for your visit to my SWF post...always enjoy hearing from you!
ReplyDeleteYou sure live in a beautiful city.
ReplyDeleteNice shot of the bridge, accompanied well with the deep blue sky. Cool!
