Waterloo, metro station

Waterloo metro station is an underground station in the inner city suburb of Waterloo, on the Sydney Metro North West & Bankstown Line. It opened in 2024 when the Metro North West Line was extended from Chatswood to Sydenham via Central. This is the entrance on the corner of Raglan Street and Cope Street.

Waterloo, metro station

 
Waterloo metro station is an underground station in the inner city suburb of Waterloo, on the Sydney Metro North West & Bankstown Line. It opened in 2024 when the Metro North West Line was extended from Chatswood to Sydenham via Central. This is the underground concourse entrance which leads to the platforms further below.

Rozelle Bay, Anzac Bridge

Marrickville, mural

This mural is on the back of an apartment building bounded by Marrickville Road, Silver Street and Marrickville Lane in the inner west suburb of Marrickville. 'Hestia' was created in 2021 by street artist Steven Nuttall, also known as The Ox King. The artwork celebrated the 200 anniversary of Greek independence and the Greek community which made its home in the suburb. Hestia was the Goddess of hearth and home. Other depictions are: Saint Nicholas, who is a patron saint and the name of the church that immigrants built in the 1960s, Patris, which was the name of a ship which brought a huge majority of the Australian Greek immigrant population, Lamia, which is the name of a Greek deli with Greek food and φιλότιμο (Filotimo), which means love of honour and represents taking someone into your home and showing respect without asking for anything back. The Australian gum leaves represent the new land.

Tempe, walkway

This shared walkway and bicycle track runs alongside Alexandra Canal in the inner west suburb of Tempe. On either side, are the Approach Lighting System structures for a runway at Sydney International Airport, with two of them seen here, behind a fence on the left and on a bridge in the canal on the right.

A sunset view of bridges over Alexandra Canal between the eastern suburb of Mascot and the inner west suburb of Tempe. Billy's Bridge is a restricted bicycle and pedestrian bridge at the front, although a couple of cars parked on it illegally, can be seen here. The Twin Arch Bridge behind it, carries Airport Drive over the canal.

This bridge juts into Alexandra Canal from the inner west suburb of Tempe. It supports one of the Approach Lighting System structures for a runway at Sydney International Airport, located directly across the canal at Mascot.

Kingsford, Kingsway Church

Kingsway Church was built in the inter-war style and is located along Houston Road, in the eastern suburb of Kingsford. It is also known as the Indonesian Presbyterian Church, an English-speaking congregation established in 1988 as a congregation in the Presbyterian Church of Australia.

Cronulla, mural

This mural of a beach scene is on the wall of a car park along Croydon Street, in the southern suburb of Cronulla. It was created by street artist Mulga the artist, who is Joel Moore.

Haberfield, paths

A crossroad of shared walkways and bicycle tracks, in the inner west suburb of Haberfield. The Green Way on the right is on the Lilyfield Road Footbridge heading to Lilyfield, which can be seen in the distance. The Bay Run on the left takes you to Five Dock. The runner is heading down Hawthorne Canal Shared Pathway which goes under the bridge to Haberfield.

This wharf is on Iron Cove on the Parramatta River, viewed from the foreshore at Sensory Park, in the inner west suburb of Lilyfield.

Bondi Beach, sign

A view of the beach in the eastern suburb of Bondi Beach. Although it was still Winter, the warm weather attracted surfers and swimmers to the beach. A "Dangerous Currents" sign is clearly displayed beside the Lifeguard surfboard.

Paddington, newsagency

This historic building is located along Oxford Street in the inner city suburb of Paddington. It was originally built as a retail and residential building. It now features a newsagent on the ground floor, a cosmetic medicine practice on the first floor and a residence on the second floor. With the demand for physical newspapers and magazines dropping off in recent years, many newsagencies across the country have closed. The newsagencies which survive rely on sales of lottery tickets, stationery and gifts to stay in business these days.

These houses are located at the end of View Street, in the southern suburb of Arncliffe. "Terrace Views" is a complex of terrace-style units and townhouses.

Tempe, water pipeline (Theme Day: Vanishing Point)

Looking at the water pipeline which runs along a walkway and bicycle track in Tempe Recreational Park along the shore of Alexandra Canal, in the inner west suburb of Tempe. The pipeline transports up to 250 million litres of desalinated drinking water each day from the plant in Kurnell to Sydney Water's Erskineville supply network. 'Naggangbi' (Greetings) is a large scale First Nations mural created in 2024 by Carmen Glynn-Braun and Dennis Golding. It is inspired by the land, sea and stories of the Bidjigal, Gadigal and Dharawal clans.
