Hurstville, shopping centre

This entrance to Hurstville Central is from Ormonde Parade, in the southern suburb of Hurstville. Hurstville Central is a shopping centre located above Hurstville railway station which features supermarkets, speciality stores, food outlets, cafés and medical services. It originally opened as Hurstville Super Centre in 1965 but was in decline after the nearby Westfield shopping centre opened in 1978 and expanded over the years. It was redeveloped and reopened in 2008 as Hurstville Central.

    1. It's interesting how similar architecture in Australia and New Zealand often is.

  2. I am not normally an old fashioned person, but with railway stations, Victorian taste was much more suitable.

    1. Unfortunately they demolished the original buildings when the station was refurbished in the 1990s.
