This building at Railway Square, Haymarket was one of the old Marcus Clark Department store buildings. These days it has become a youth hostel. The contemporary sculpture light tower is one of four installed at Railway Square in 1999.

Haymarket, Market City
Market City at Haymarket, is located just south of the Sydney central business district. The complex (left) contains a produce and flea market known as Paddy's Markets, the shopping centre Market City on three levels including cinemas and restaurants and a skyscraper apartment complex above called The Peak. Sydney's produce markets were originally located here until 1980 when they moved to the western suburb of Flemington. The Edwardian architecture of the outer walls of the vegetable market (right), built in 1909, was preserved and restored.

Alexandria, Sydney Park, sculpture
The golden light of the sunset that I featured yesterday is reflected in this sculpture called "The Trail", created in 1990 by Micheal Snape. It is located on top of a hill in the northwestern corner of Sydney Park, in the inner city suburb of Alexandria.

The silhouettes of the old brickworks chimneys at Sydney Park against a fiery sunset. The same chimneys decorated at Christmas can be seen here.

Bondi Icebergs Swimming Club
The Bondi Icebergs Swimming Club is located above the swimming pools at the southern end of Bondi Beach. The Bondi Icebergs Winter Swimming Club was founded in 1929 by a group of committed local Bondi lifesavers who wanted to to maintain their fitness during the winter months. The club moved from a tin shed to new premises in 1960. The current building which opened in 2002 is the only licensed winter swimming club in the world and features bars and restaurants.

Tamarama, Sculpture by the Sea
This is my last look at Sculpture by the Sea, the outdoor sculpture exhibition that ran from 29th October to 15th November 2009. It was located on the two kilometre coastal walk from Bondi to Tamarama. These sculptures were located on the sandy beach at Tamarama. I'm most happy with photo of the rainbow artwork, where I managed to capture a glimpse of the beachgoers and flag in the gap. They almost look like they posed for the shot.
