This view of the inner city suburbs of Millers Point and Barangaroo is from a ferry on Sydney Harbour. Moore's Wharf and the Operational Headquarters of the Sydney Ports Corporation in the foreground and the Palisade Hotel on the horizon are in Millers Point. The Harbour Control Tower and the city's former port facilities, which are soon to be redeveloped, were formerly part of Millers Point but are now part of a new suburb known as Barangaroo.
Terrific capture as always! Love the tower silhouetted against the sky! And what clear, beautiful skies they are! Have a great weekend!

look at that great hotel the Pallisades, still closed I think.
ReplyDeleteRosa, you can't climb the tower to enjoy the view at the moment but I think once they complete the redevelopment at Barangaroo they should consider keeping it as a tourist attraction.
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy it must be to see the Tower from afar, returning home.

This is a beautiful shot. That tower is impressive against the bright blue sky...but oh, that little red and yellow boat steals the show...
ReplyDeleteWonderful scenic shot, the sky is looking beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNice picture. I like the red boat, it really stands out against all the blue.
ReplyDeleteThey should NOT pull down that tower, but keep it for blogers to go up and take photos. No doubt a small fee would change hands.
ReplyDeleteThat's a harbour view you don't see very often.
ReplyDeleteBruce, I wouldn't mind paying a small fee for the privilege of that view. I hope they keep it too.
ReplyDeleteThe tower looks impressive. I bet you get nice views if you were to get on top. Great shot! :)
ReplyDeleteTerrific capture. Gorgeous blue sky.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blue sky and water, Jim -- and I love that red and yellow harbor district boat!

Greetings Anna
It's the first tiem I seen a Harbour control tower. is it like an airport tower, but for boats?
ReplyDeletesuch a clear shot....I love the pure blues of the sea and sky.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of that harbor under the clear blue sky.
ReplyDeleteBlue sky and water Love it
ReplyDeleteAnn, that's exactly what a Harbour Control Tower is used for. It was needed here when Sydney's main port was located at Barangaroo and all the ships and boats still used the wharves around the harbour at Millers Point and Pyrmont.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. Love to visit this place someday.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Jim! happy SkyWatch Friday!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a lovely place! Great image too .... wish you a nice weekend .... Irene :o)

Jim: Very cool shot with a neat tower.
ReplyDeleteI like it when a city converts an old port into a thriving new-bu-looks-old business/ shopping district. It'll be a nice shopping area, attracting tourists!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful clear shot of the sky :D
ReplyDeleteThat tower is very imposing. Good shot!
