The Rocks, Police Station, Vivid Sydney
The lighting up of this heritage building was one of the simplest installations during the Vivid Sydney Festival but still quite effective. The blue light seemed appropriate for the former Police Station along George Street at The Rocks. It was designed by Government Architect James Barnet and constructed in 1882 in the Victorian Free Classical architectural style.
The blue lights are mesmerizing !

ReplyDeleteI love it when Sydney gives heritage protection to its most important 19th century architecture. The building still looks impressive.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see this one. Headed straight up Nurses Walk thinking there would be stuff up there (which there wasn't). Maybe it wasn't lit till a bit later.

Ann, there were so many installations and exhibits this year that it was difficult to get around and see all of them in one night.
