Rockdale, town hall

Rockdale Town Hall is located on the corner of Princes Highway and Bryant Street, in the southern suburb of Rockdale. It was designed by Douglas Gardiner and built in 1940. It features art deco and inter-war architectural styles. It originally also contained the administrative offices of the local council but these were moved to a new building and the space is now used for a library.

  1. Would love to have a peak inside too Jim, the link mentions that there are some art deco touches inside also.

  2. Nice looking building. I like the clock tower. I guess everyone has gone home since it's almost 6pm.

    1. Daylight Savings Time at the moment so it's still quite bright at 6pm. Since we're in the middle of summer it's also been holiday time, so not many people and cars around. Great time to take snaps.

  3. I like the tiered levels on the clock tower! An interesting building style accommodating a corner position on the street!
