Rockdale Town Hall is located on the corner of Princes Highway and Bryant Street, in the southern suburb of Rockdale. It was designed by Douglas Gardiner and built in 1940. It features art deco and inter-war architectural styles. It originally also contained the administrative offices of the local council but these were moved to a new building and the space is now used for a library.
Would love to have a peak inside too Jim, the link mentions that there are some art deco touches inside also.
ReplyDeleteNice looking building. I like the clock tower. I guess everyone has gone home since it's almost 6pm.
ReplyDeleteDaylight Savings Time at the moment so it's still quite bright at 6pm. Since we're in the middle of summer it's also been holiday time, so not many people and cars around. Great time to take snaps.
DeleteI like the tiered levels on the clock tower! An interesting building style accommodating a corner position on the street!
ReplyDeleteI would just like to say many thanks for a remarkable post and a all round enjoyable blog. I also love the theme/design.
ReplyDeleteEven the parking sign is blue-tiful!

A very solid and stately building.
ReplyDeleteThose blues make things much more colorful in the grey world I am living in at my neck of the woods. Love the green, blues and reds.
