The former Pelican Hotel is located along Bourke Street, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. The heritage listed building was built in 1858 in the Victorian Georgian architectural style and known as the Emerald Isle Hotel, later the Gulgong Hotel. It now houses a boutique hotel and a French restaurant.

I am glad the building is still standing and being used. Maybe not as a hotel but a French restaurant sounds good
