  2. I think you have one of the best fireworks in the world, it´s in the news every year. Looks mighty fine from where I´m standing, sort of speech. Happy 2020!

  5. Beautiful shot! The big news in America is about the fireworks still going off in Australia in spite of all of the fires there. Probably not anywhere near Sydney though.

  6. Beautiful !
The fireworks in Australia are always remarkable.
But I am amazed that despite the bad fires, it was held.
    This sky gives hope
    Happy New Year 2020

    1. Jutta, there was a lot of discussion about cancelling the event but it went ahead since there was no fire danger in the middle of the harbour.

  7. Happy New Year to you, this sure looks awesome - and, well. Here they say "Australia" is burning and "Sydney dares to..." have fireworks.
Reckon those people also think Sydney is the capital of Australia, too.
I think it was the right decision and with that pic you prove the pictures they show here wrong.
To a happy 2020, to Golden Twenties.

    1. It's a major event for locals and tourists, so it would have been very disappointing if it was cancelled.

  8. Happy New Year though I cannot say I agree with the fireworks considering the fire going on outside the city, the money could have been better spent

    1. Although, these events are planned 15 months ahead and the money already spent, so cancelling them wouldn't have saved any money. It is something they need to look at, in future though.
