Marrickville, art

This is part of a mural on the wall of the Marrickville Metro shopping centre, along Victoria Road in the inner west suburb of Marrickville. "Vicars: A Tribute to Marrickville" was created by Alex Lehours as a celebration of the location, the former Vicars Woollen Mills on this site, the suburb of Marrickville and its rich history as well as the people of the area, past and present.

  2. It's beautiful. It also appears to have a rich history, too. Being from the states, I was surprise to see a Kmart sign in Australia, Jim.

    1. Kmart Australia was a joint venture with the American business but they divested their interest in 1994.

  3. Beautiful mural. I got my wedding dress from K-Mart. AUD 9,99. The shoes were more expensive, 12,99. We married in Joondalup/Perth 2013. And I´m looking forward to come back in February.

    1. They're not roses but I'm not familiar with the names of many flowers. Maybe someone else recognises them.
