Lunar Lanterns have been installed around the city to celebrate the Sydney Lunar New Year Festival. This year is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac. This Snake lantern is installed along the Dixon Street pedestrian mall, at the corner of Factory Street in Chinatown in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. It was created by Alexandra Sommer and Brad Clark and inspired by children's craft. The zodiac symbol of the Snake can be characterised as being sly or ruthless, however signifies wisdom and humour.
