The Sirius Building is an apartment complex along Cumberland Street at The Rocks. It was designed by Tao Gofers in the Brutalist style and built in 1979. A major refurbishment was undertaken in 2022-2023 with significant changes to the 76 apartments. The other part of the building can be seen here. The chimney stack belongs to the nearby Mining Museum.

Looks like matchboxes in different planes
ReplyDeleteI like this one better than the taller one in the link. I don't much care for heights, especially if the windows go down to the floor! But, these here look nice, I could deal with that height! Nice views and light.
ReplyDeleteAs long as _every_ view is excellent, I don't mind the Brutalist style, the height of the windows or the number of flats.
ReplyDeleteNot bad for the Brutalist style.
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting style if you like a lot of sun and not too much privacy.
ReplyDeleteA very interesting building visually.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining Scenic Sunday.
ReplyDeleteGosh it's like a stack of crates! Thank you for sharing and for taking part in #MySundaySnapshot.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I guess if you live there you have to abide by all sorts of rules regarding what you can do and what you can't - they must want to preserve the integrity of the whole, so no room for individuality. Yes, it's brutal... Thank you for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
