The Nigel Love Bridge over Alexandra Canal, viewed from the walkway and bicycle track in Tempe Recreational Park, in the inner west suburb of Tempe. The four-lane 50-metre single span curved box girder steel bridge was built in 2014, linking Sydney Airport at Mascot to an adjoining car park. The bridge was named after Nigel Love, an aviation pioneer who in 1919 transformed a bullock paddock into Sydney Airport, one of the world's oldest continually operating airports.

What a striking view. I like how the curve of the bridge blends with the canal and park surroundings. It really shows off both the engineering and the scenery.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fine looking bridge which should last for a very long time.
