The MLC Centre, one of the tallest skyscrapers in Sydney, rises to 67 floors above Castlereagh Street between Martin Place and King Street. It contains an office tower, a retail precinct and the Theatre Royal. The MLC Centre was Sydney's tallest office building from 1977 to 1992. Sydney Tower has been the tallest structure in Sydney since it was built in 1981. The next tallest skyscrapers in Sydney, in order of height, are Chifley Tower 1992, Citigroup Centre 2000, Deutsche Bank Place 2005, World Tower 2004 and MLC Centre 1977.
I like this shot the building really draws me in.
ReplyDeleteWow, this looks like a giant radiator to me. I like that the building combines so many different uses.
ReplyDeleteWow! I think I have a crick in my neck from looking up. Beautiful building and sky!
ReplyDeleteThat is what I call an upshot. Imposing.

ReplyDeleteIt was built in 1977 - that long ago! What is the tallest building now, Jim? Centrepoint? Nah ...
ReplyDeleteWow!! Now that's what I call a building! Amazing and a great photo.
ReplyDeleteJulie, Sydney Tower has been the tallest structure since it was built in 1981 but there are four taller office towers now with the tallest being Chifley Tower. I'll add the list of taller ones to my post.

ReplyDeleteLooks very imposing in this shot (which I don't think it actually does).

The sky is such a rich blue. The windows look more like file drawers than windows! The strange ways they build skyscrapers. Neat shot.
ReplyDeletesuch a tall building! and a sight to behold against the blue sky!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. Love the perspective and the stark colour combination.
ReplyDeleteJanice.

ReplyDeleteOh that is a stunning shot! Wonderful composition and the sky is gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteThis is heartstopping stuff. I love this shot.
ReplyDeleteWow, that sky is nearly on fire! Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic shot. The way you composed the building against the sky is perfection.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive building! And an excellent photograph!
ReplyDeletevery impressive picture. Makes me think of Superman. I love Superman by the way. hahah
ReplyDeleteLove the perspective.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually difficult to photograph. What does one do? By keeping the sky a uniform mass of colour, the building has become even more powerful. It would then be interesting to photograph it in fog, with the top of the building disappearing. This will give you material for many photos.
ReplyDeleteComplete awesomeness! Love the angle... so much depth!
ReplyDeleteJ Bar,
ReplyDeleteGreat perspective on the tower! Thanks for sharing!
Caprice
Perfect Jim! Just perfect!
ReplyDeleteAmazing tower surrounded by that gorgeous sky! Beautiful photo! I like the older building too.
ReplyDelete67 floors, I've never been that high, amazing. P.S. Yes the cat is an advert but I can't think what for.

ReplyDeleteHi J Bar, this is just a perfect shot of the tower. Thank you for sharing this with us! It made me have a glimpse of Sydney.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the visit!
Vertigo time for me! But it sets off the blue sky beautifully!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous deep blue sky! The MLC Cenre is a very unique building. MLC is also the abbreviation for the church we go to, Mother Lode Church. Lots of things are named "mother lode" around these parts because it's where the "mother lode" of gold was first discovered in the foothills of California in 1848.
ReplyDeleteThe sky is so blue..! Beautiful
