Louis la Vache, there have been problems with the acoustics of this modern structure too. They've been trying to address these issues ever since it was built because the original architect wasn't allowed to complete the interior to his specifications due to financial and political problems.
Ann, I think the Sydney Opera House is probably more famous than the Sydney Harbour Bridge but they are both well recognised. There are a few other bridges around the world with the same design but there's only one Sydney Opera House.
Lovely photo of the Opera House. The tall ship adds a wonderful perspective. I haven't seen any when I've been to Sydney - does it do cruises along the Harbour? Cheers. Melbourne Daily Photo
Yes BlossomFlowerGirl, this tall ship does an afternoon cruise Wednesdays to Sundays. There's a link to a website on the post about the tall ship, earlier in the week.
I wonder what the original tall ship sailors would think of Sydney Harbour today.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful symmetry of this shot. The harbor is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of this famous landmark! The tallship really adds to the impact of the sails of the opera house.
ReplyDeleteThe Sydney Opera House has become as iconic to Sydney as the Golden Gate Bridge has become to San Francisco.
ReplyDeleteHow are the acoustics in the opera house? «Louis» has noted that in modern designs the acoustics are often atrocious (scroll down).
Great scene!
ReplyDeleteThis I do...
So lovely!

Gorgeous shot, Jim. And to think that just to your right is probably a massive white cruise ship which barely fits in this small cove!
ReplyDeleteThe Syndey Harbor bridge must be the most famous icon of Sydney, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteEven Nemo knows about it. LOL?
Beautiful indeed. There's nowhere quite like Sydney Harbour. If I'm going to get homesick its usually for the harbour.
ReplyDeleteWhat a classic shot this is!

ReplyDeleteGreat combination shot here, Jim. Just look at that sky. You hardly ever see that in Europe.

ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteA\I'm catching up -- and so enjoyed all of your last few posts on the harbor and this beautiful tall ship. That is a busy and beautiful harbor!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot of the tallship and the Sydney harbor.
ReplyDeleteLove the tall ship ~ sailless ~ contrasting with the huge "sails" of the Opera House! great photo!
