The sun setting over Kogarah Bay, earlier this week, viewed from Claydon Reserve at Sans Souci. We've had some really hot days this week with temperatures hitting above 40 degrees celsius in some suburbs. There is barely any relief after the sun sets with temperatures staying above 25 degrees most nights. This heatwave has us on track for recording the hottest week in Sydney, since records began.
Lovely shot J.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm ciphering correctly your temp is over 100F which is pretty darn hot. We were below 0F this morning so we had a 100F difference between your part of the world and ours recently.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and peaceful view!
ReplyDeleteNice shot. The drama of a sunset is infectious.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies and a terrific capture as always, Jim. You can almost feel the heat radiating across the water! Superb! Hope you have a great weekend!

Nice view! The water captured looks like specks of sand.
ReplyDeleteYogi♪♪♪, that's quite a difference between the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere, isn't it?
ReplyDeletewhen my parents went to live in the Gold Coast, mum thought there was snow, instead she had heat wave. I was surprised too.
ReplyDeleteThat is a hot spell, all right! Of course, if you want some of the snow we had dumped on us yesterday...
ReplyDeleteI love the water in this shot - looks like beaten pewter!
That's a lovely soft sunset, and a peaceful photo!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the heat wave that's hitting you now, on top of everything else that has happened to your country lately. My friends in Sydney report that it is almost unbearable there now.
Ouch, that's hot, but a lovely sunset, Jim.

What a gorgeous photo of the bay! I enjoyed several of your other photos also, in earlier posts. You are a good photographer!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving a sweet comment.
Hugs, Cindy
Lovely sky and I very much like the rough texture of the water.
ReplyDeleteIronic that it almost looked like snow. Wonderful sunset, J.
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather all around.
You guys are cooking Down Under. Yikes. Better jump in that water to cool down.
ReplyDeleteI like the softness of your photo.
40 Degrees? Wow, we can only dream of such temperatures in The Netherlands.
ReplyDeleteVery soft colours in you picture, this friday. Beautiful!

I can't stand that hot temperature, sometimes it happens here in the Philippines, so most of us flock to beaches to relieve us from the heat. Picture is excellent!
ReplyDeleteLovely shot!
ReplyDeleteThat is awfully hot and many houses not built for coolness. By the bay or sea might be better. Keep cool.If it is any consolation I'm sitting in a pool of sweat. We have high humidity
ReplyDeleteThat looks hot, but it's certainly beautiful. We've just had the coldest couple of days I can remember since moving to Colorado almost 20 years ago.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is a beautiful shot - and a lovely place to be!
ReplyDeleteHere you are getting +40 and we were getting -20 with much lower windchill!
The weather in Australia has been terrible lately - every day different areas are getting hit.
Beverley Baird, we do seem to be getting a lot of extremes in weather.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Jim !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors ...

wow, what a beautiful sunset. It's so difficult to imagine that you are on the other side of the world experiencing weather that is precisely opposite from what I'm living here. that just amazes me, and that we know each and communicate with words and photos, all in a split second. I hope you get some relief from the hot as we here get relief from the cold. more frigid temps are forecast for the coming week. have a great weekend! happy SWF!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, bet you want to cool off in the water!!!
ReplyDeletelovely sunset over water - you have captured it well
ReplyDeleteHow calm and peaceful. This tops off my sunset view. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
How beautiful! Happy SWF!
ReplyDeleteMy SKY.
Very peaceful - just breathing out ...
ReplyDeleteNeeding a little relief from the bright sun, are you? :-)
ReplyDeleteTO THE SKY
Sky by day or sky by night,
You are always my delight,
For in blaze or subtle hue,
Sky, my heart belongs to you.

That is really hot! Though I'm jealous too. Wish it was hot here and not leaving Snowpocalypse.

ReplyDeleteThe weather is becoming unpredictable.
Looks like the end of a perfect day!
ReplyDeleteMagical Mystical Teacher, thanks for that. The heatwave is continuing today and no relief expected until Monday.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunset!!! I've been to Australia and loved every part of it--would love to come back sometime for an even longer visit. So much to see and do. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and serene sunset.
