This pedestrian bridge provides a link from Grosvenor Street and Lang Street to the Australian Taxation Office on level two of NAB House, an office building of the National Australia Bank. The suspension cables are anchored in this forecourt of Suncorp Place, an adjoining office building of the Suncorp Group, surrounded by plants grown in geometric patterns and a piece of modern sculpture.
This is terrific, from the angles of the buildings, to the reflection on the central building, to the figures, to the splash of green foliage.
ReplyDeleteBut where ... where ... I sort of know Grosvenor Street ... coming down the Quay side of The Rocks ridge ... but what is the walk-bridge going across ... what is down there, underneath? I love walkways and alley-ways like this ...

ReplyDeleteJulie, this block is on a slope. NAB House fronts George Street and this is the back entrance to the building. The forecourt of this other office building is off Grovesnor Street and Lang Street. From memory, under the bridge I believe there are entrances to both buildings.

ReplyDeleteJulie, that's right. A couple of blocks north of Wynyard Park. There's also a small park opposite this forecourt called Lang Park. I seem to remember some cafes under the bridge too and a foodcourt in the Suncorp Place building.
