Sydney Opera House (Theme Day: Details)

This abstract shot of the Sydney Opera House, which looks like a face, is from the western forecourt. I was inspired to take this photo by one of the winners of Little Sydney Lives, a photographic exhibition for children living in Sydney. It is part of the Art and About Sydney festival, with photographs currently exhibited around Sandringham Gardens in Hyde Park.

    Well, I certainly don't remember this face on the Sydney Opera House, but I shouldn't be at all surprised that it does have a face! Good shot, Jim.

    The Sydney Opera House is dramatic from a distance due to its unique shape, but the details of its angles and the patterns of its tiles are a treat that can be appreciated only close up.

      I have a greater appreciation of it in recent times. I'll try and get a photo of the tile work up close, next time I'm down there.

    Jim, you could probably take a different photo every day at the opera house and you wouldn't get tired and your viewers wouldn't get tired. It is one of the world's most remarkable buildings.
